Inside of the old casino, Harvey's, this sports bar is a perfect place to step in for a bite to eat. Atleast, that was my thought while roaming the casino on a late Monday night. Unfortunately, at the time of my arrival I didn't realize they were closing in 15 minutes. The bartender, Erin, was still nice enough to serve my cousins and I drinks and I was allowed to order food. However, she made it clear that it was all to-go at that point. Mkay, no problem. We ordered a few drinks while I waited for my twisters to be ready. We ordered Fried Green Beans, a Cheesesteak with Swiss cheese and mushrooms, and my wife opted for a Cheeseburger (though I forgot to mention no tomatoes). Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff was efficient, quickly clearing tables, tidying up, and serving food with friendly smiles. I was really impressed by how fast everything moved.
To my surprise, even though we didn't request it, the Fried Green Beans were served first as an appetizer. They were hot and crispy without being overcooked, well-seasoned, and paired nicely with the ranch dressing. The portion was quite generous too.

While staying at Harvey's in Lake Tahoe, I usually grab a pizza here at Straw Hat. This pizza is much better than the food court type pizza like over at Harrah's, it's cooked fresh made to order. The restaurant is right inside the casino so if you are gambling it is super convenient. Also it is steps away from the door if you are just coming in for a bite. Plenty of seating and sports tv's all around, along with a full bar. The pizza as I mentioned is actually really good. I love that they throw on lots of cheese. A rowdy sports bar/pizza joint with good food, good service, and the best drink deal in town. There are a dozen or more big screens blasting football, basketball, baseball, motocross, and everything else a sports junkies want. The crowd is enthusiastic and friendly. Belly up to the bar and you'll meet from all over the states. They come to Tahoe for the skiing with breaks for the sports and drinking. Try the beer and shot special for $5.00. As far as I know, it's the best drink deal in town. The bar staff fuels the party with great service and an well stocked bar. As the beer flows and the bar tab grows, order some pizza because it's cooked right on the nose.

We got here 54 minutes before they were closing and ordered coffee. We heard the kind man at the ordering counter tell another employee that Number 48 is ordering coffee (presumably so they can begin to brew it). The other employee replied, really?. Needless to say, the coffee came out cold. When informed, they put it in the microwave. Not cool. It made us regret giving a tip at the register before we got our food. The employee at the register was very sweet and let our unsatisfied friend craving caffeine exchange her coffee for Pepsi. The wings were amazing and the cookie pizza was good, too. Wish they had ice cream on top, but they don 't have ice cream.
We ordered an all-meat pizza (I can’t recall the specific name) along with a combination pizza. The all-meat pizza had an overwhelming amount of sausage compared to the other toppings, which was a bit off-putting. The combination pizza had an excessive number of olives—while tasty, it didn't stand out.
We also tried the chicken wings, and although they were quite small, they were surprisingly better than the pizzas. As for the service, it was satisfactory; they checked on us a couple of times throughout our meal.
This used to be the hotel coffee shop and is now trying to be more of a hip sports bar. We had a chicken pesto sandwich here with tater tots and it was hot and tasty and filling. The atmosphere consists of a bar, with bar stool seating, tables, and booths, and rows of flat screen TVs broadcasting sports events. Friendly fast service.
The pizza was quite bland and lacked flavor. The chicken was simply chopped into pieces and sprinkled on top without any marinade. Given the price, which was over $20 for a medium pizza, it definitely wasn't worth it. On a positive note, the salad bar for $6.99 was quite good. It had a nice selection, and the vegetables were fresh.

This is located in the casino and we weren't expecting much. However to our surprise the service went above and beyond. Very helpful in helping us select what we should eat. The breakfast burrito was amazing and huge. Could feed 2!
