This was our first visit to Tarator South Melbourne, and I’m unsure how to feel about it. The menu offers a wide variety of appealing wraps and rolls, but there are far too many options, making it feel unfocused. They serve everything from acai bowls and rice pudding to waffles, pasta, banh mi, shakshuka, and no less than 17 types of pizza. This diversity results in an unreasonably long wait time—40 minutes is unacceptable, especially with so few customers present. I was eager to try the fried mushrooms and chorizo on polenta, but it arrived with just a hash brown instead. It seemed either careless or confused in execution.
