I'm sad to say our experience last night was poor, really poor. We'd come back to Teta Mona because our great previous dinner with the same group, but this time we were sorely disappointed. Due to the Covid situation we accept the set menu only...option, but not this menu. Cheap, mostly tasteless, supermarket bread and one single dip and some salads for entrees, rice with some chicken, and then more rice with potatoes (really?! in a nondescript kind of curry sauce for mains. Unacceptable. And at $50 a head with corkage, a rip off. I give it 1 star because the service was quick, friendly and efficient, but the food deserves a big fat zero.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant last night. The server was knowledgeable and accommodating when I mentioned I needed gluten-free options, and they were able to also accommodate my vegetarian preferences. Everything I ordered was gluten-free, and I even got to enjoy a delicious dessert - a dark cocoa mousse with gluten-free biscuits. It was fantastic! While the restaurant itself is not entirely gluten-free, it appears to be a safe option for those with celiac disease.
I cannot give this place five stars because it is not completely vegan (and I am literally not able to do this, but I would if I could). although served a few dishes with meat, the menu is usually vegetarian or vegan and has gluten-free options. eating is great, the service is top notch, and the ambiente is cozy. try the falafel, the hummus (so creamy) and the batata mlaiye.

came here last night in melbourne. we ordered our food and it came very fast. it was beautiful, fresh and delicious. we chose a few meals. the felafel were amazing, the dives were tasty, the huh was plentiful and the bean. curry was very tasty. granatapfel juice ended the meal. the baklava we are home for a later dessert when we were filled with good food. we're coming back!
the $50 vegetarian set menu was extremely disappointing. a boring salad, barely boiled filled aubergine, tasty filled zucchini, soggy cheese-filos and a bland potato stew served with rice and no falafels! do not raise any falafels! the hommous was really good and the service was. fast and friendly, otherwise it would have been 1 star.
We ordered from here on home delivery. We ordered one of the banquets. The food was good and plentiful. It also travels well as it is impressively packaged. It is a rather pricey experience but one that’s well worth trying
eat for the soul. Do not eat lunch before they come to dinner, they will eat sooo full and delicious home boiled mama style! pick up the dives and enjoy the slowly boiled lamb! great place!
