This is an A-OK place to stop by. I have visited a couple times when I was between events and wanted something I could take with me. While you can eat here (and I have) I think it of it more as I spot to get something when I an running between locations. One of the things I like about this strip mall is that I can place an order for Thai and then grab a coffee and any office material I might need while it is being prepared. My usual pick for Thai places is yellow curry with chicken (with some seasonal variations). I always ask for it Thai hot and different places provide different results. There are 28 reviews marked as not recommended, many of which mention a decline in food quality. Unfortunately, my experience was both my first and my last, as I can't compare it to anything else besides a few small dishes I've tried from other menus. This meal ranks among the worst I've ever had. It was supposed to be a special treat for my husband's birthday, but it ended up being inedible. We ended up feeding the chicken to our dogs and throwing the rest away. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, who immediately took a defensive stance and explained that my criticisms were just part of how they prepare their food. I visited this restaurant for a quick lunch while my car was being serviced. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the run-down appearance of the place. There were soda boxes and crates of water bottles strewn near the entrance, and the lack of decor or ambiance made for a rather uninviting atmosphere. We ordered red curry and Pad Thai, and while the food was decent, I found it to be overpriced at around $15 per dish. Considering the overall experience, including the small portion sizes, I would rate it as expensive. It felt more like sitting in a cramped space surrounded by soda boxes than enjoying a meal out. I ended up spending over $30 but left still feeling hungry.
The sign outside this place is called... Thai Pilin ...not Pilin Thai ...but it 's still the same restaurant. Great Thai place. Pad Thai and the fried rice are sooooo full of flavor. The times we 've been there, fried rice seems to be a very popular dish. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back again and again for my Thai cravings. edit I really don 't understand why people think this place is so terrible. This place is NOT a hole in the wall. The interior looks okay (not the best, but not the worst either).

I was in the mood for pad Thai and, since I wasn't familiar with the Tysons area, I discovered this restaurant through Yelp. The pad Thai was delicious, and I particularly loved the seafood version, which had generous chunks of scallops. I definitely recommend it if you're around. They also offer delivery, which is a nice bonus. Plus, they serve beer and wine!
I had some of the best Thai tea I've tasted since leaving Asia! I visited for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon, and the place wasn't too crowded. I placed my order, and the portion size was just right for my appetite. The staff was friendly, the location was convenient, and the food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely visit again!
I have loved this place since the late 90's, when I worked next door. I still return on a semi-regular basis, even though I don't live or work close by. the consistency of the food and service has maintained the same high level for decades. family owned and operated, you will love Pilin Thai!
We like the service here. Their food is good and you can sit outside too. FYI you can't have drinks outside. The manager or owner are very friendly, and always remember us. It's one of the reasons we like coming here, their staff is very nice and pleasant.

Surprised by the negative reviews. I've been going to Thai Pilin for over 20 years and I get the same thing every time. Three Flavored Chicken is a top five favorite dish of mine. Just order that and thank me later.
How is this place still open?? Thought it would be normal Thai and ordered the most basic dish (pad Thai). Tofu was dry and hard. And there was hair in my food!!!!!! Gross. Stopped eating it.
