Today at 5 PM, I stopped by this restaurant on my way home from the Korndorne hiking area. It's easy to find and offers beautiful indoor and outdoor seating with lovely views of the River Avon. The menu features around 8 to 10 main courses, all made from scratch and sounding delicious. We tried the prawn and crab salad, tomato soup with warm bread rolls, fish and chips, and a delightful lamb pie served with chunky chips, peas, and extra gravy. This is a lovely pub on the river. Went for a drink. Decided to book Sunday lunch. Was asked for phone no. Shame when we arrived was told no lunch available and 'not to shoot the messenger! ' No explanation given. I know things can happen but it would have been courteous to inform us beforehand. So beware a quick call asking if food was being served might be a good idea! However we were directed to the Chestnut Tree approx 1 mile away Sunday lunch was excellent.
Views are nice only came in for a drink. Staff are polite thought i was a bit pricey for a pint and basically a medium size wine with lemonade near 15 pound. For thatreason it lost a star but on the whole enjoyed it. I think next time i go it will have to be afternoon time to get the sun
Only given 4 so far as we didn't have food. Staff lovely, very polite. Beers fine. Proper old village pub. Great covered deck area to sit out of the rain and watch the river and the fish breaking the surface. Also saw a magnificent Heron and a local rowing by in the rain!

absolutely beautiful pub next to the river with fab sitting outside. eating nice. only on the bottom is when they have mobility problems, there are some steps to get to the decking areas
This is a lovely pub with a spacious outdoor area that offers stunning views of the water. They have a great selection of drinks, and the food looks absolutely beautiful.
I visited the restaurant for lunch on Saturday, and I had an excellent experience. The food was well presented and arrived quickly. I highly recommend it!
