After a fairly emotional call from my mum, she told me about a pretty amazing experience at the Angel inn. She has regularly eaten there with dad and since he passed away in June. On her visit last week she went for some lunch and as usual chatted pleasantries with the team working. She was shown to her table and decided to order a small Christmas dinner. The team asked if she would like a sweet and she declined as her appetite is limited. She suggested a coffee liquor which my mum jumped at (as it was Christmas).. Booked The Angel a few weeks ago as a stop off for lunch on a long trip to Scotland with Grandchildren as they have a great garden with play area ,and easy accessibility off the Motorway. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Really nice Menu and what i really liked was the children could have a smaller portion of the adult meals and not just the usual burger, chicken nuggets and chips etc, etc. !Five stars just for that. I wish it had been better, as we had heard good reviews and recently moved to the area. The Sunday lunch was bland, the chicken on the sizzlers was dry and not marinated in the chosen sauce, making it seem like it was left under the hot plate until a sauce was chosen. The chips were cold. Service was slow. I have to mention that the waitress serving the next table had a skirt that was extremely short and unprofessional. Additionally, a family was allowed in with the male still wearing their work wear, which was dirty and covered in oil - very unhygienic. It was disappointing that they were allowed to stay without being asked to wash and change. Sorry, I wish it had been better.
Fantastic stay! We stayed for one night after a friend’s wedding and were not disappointed. The room is very modern with sound proofing from the road, the bathroom and shower very adequate for a night’s stay, and the bed comfortable. The only moan was it was too warm for me, but better too warm than too cold. The breakfast which was included in the room rate was superb! And a special thanks to the owner for offering to cook us break fast after we forgot to preorder, and being late up. A really nice touch. Travelled here for my birthday other side of Doncaster for a meal 6 of us. Friends had told us it was a lovely place. Despite a long wait to have our order taken and asking multiple times as they must have only certain staff that can do this , it was busy too Sunday afternoon. However, everything else was perfect. The table , the food and menu was amazing. Such a shame it rained as kids wanted to play outside as lovely beer garden and play area. We will definitely come back as it was lovely and staff nice too.
Sonday 26th, at 6pm. A pre-booked table of 9. Out of the 9 of us. 4 didn't really like their meal. 3, said it was average. 2, enjoyed. Meal's quite staggered to come out. had puddings with one coming 3-4mins, after the others finished. So refused it. The Angel Inn, use to me a great place to dine. People in the area, keep rating the Angel. 3 weeks myself, partner and in-laws visited. We all thought the food and service were average. But saying that, they was a little busy.
My friend made a reservation for lunch at this restaurant since he frequents it often. There was plenty of parking, the dining room was comfortable looking, and we received prompt and friendly service followed by delicious food. We left feeling very full and satisfied.

Great meal. Staff were very friendly. The food was presented really well with generous portions and tasted excellent. Needless to say will be back again and will also recommending to others
