Went here as a change from Leamington. And was it worth it . Great location next to the River Avon so nice views over the moored boats. The atmosphere was nice in this historic building. The staff were friendly and left you to enjoy your meal and the atmosphere. Nice that there was a hint of music enabling you to have a normal conversation...unlike some places. The food was lovely. Great range of food so you should be able to find something that you like. Good portions and very memorable. Price was not too bad either for the quality. Will go back.
Quite confused by the relationship between The Bear and the Swan's Nest Hotel and Bistrot Pierre. It seems The Bear is part of the same company and the menu is the same but you can dine in the pub rather than in the restaurant per se. We preferred it as cosier and more like a gastropub ambience. We had the Prix fixe 2 courses and the steak frites was very good, followed by a raspberry chocolate mousse. At 17.95 good value and good food freshly cooked. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Overall, would recommend.
Lovely setting for a meal overlooking the water and watching the world go by! Good selection on the menu, with a daily specials list as well which is good for a change on a return visit.
