Avoid this place. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and the person taking my order seemed completely uninterested. I saw him take the meat out of the case and place it on a plate, all while pulling his phone out of his pocket with a gloved hand—clearly more focused on his phone than the food. He then put his phone away, wiped his gloved hand on his dirty apron, and continued handling the meat. The employee looked like a teenager who clearly wasn't concerned about doing his job properly, moving slowly and carelessly. I ended up just walking out because I didn’t want to deal with that kind of attitude.
Last week, my boyfriend visited Bronx Deli, and I can say with certainty that neither of us will ever order from them again. They served him pasta salad that was clearly moldy—a serious health code violation. I've never witnessed a restaurant show such blatant disregard by serving expired food to customers. It's absolutely unacceptable. While we've noticed Bronx Deli declining over the years, this is by far their worst moment. I strongly advise caution if you choose to eat here.
I used to really enjoy this place because they made hearty sandwiches loaded with meat and toppings. I recently ordered the Figlia Julli’s Favorite grinder (deli chicken, bacon, sharp provolone, lettuce, no tomato, and deli dressing) and was very disappointed. The sandwich was mostly just bread. I even had to move the meat and cheese from one half of the grinder to the other just to make it feel worthwhile! Honestly, Subway puts more meat on their sandwiches.
Honestly, what happened to this restaurant? I ordered a Captain grinder, which is supposed to come with chicken cutlet, eggplant, mozzarella, and roasted red peppers. Instead, I received just two small slices of eggplant on each half of the grinder. Like other negative reviews I've seen, it’s clear that whoever is making the sandwiches is only putting the absolute bare minimum of ingredients. I won’t be coming back. This was a terrible experience.

The sandwich was okay, but there are certainly better options nearby, as well as some that are worse. This place loses points for not informing you in advance about the fee for credit card transactions. You receive a total amount, swipe your card, and then discover an unexpected charge that’s higher than what you were initially quoted.
I’m not sure how it’s possible to mess up a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. When someone asks for a small amount of condiments, it shouldn’t come out completely drenched. It was remade, but unfortunately, it had the exact same issue. I feel like I could make a better one myself. I won’t be coming back again.

This place does lose points because the charge a fee for using a credit card, and refuses to tell you about it before. You’re told a total, then swipe your card and see a charge for more than what you were told.

I ordered 5 large grinders for a office party lunch with drinks. Sandwiches were good, but I have had much better. My complaint they are too rude to say thank you. Even with a generous tip, they could careless.
