Owner run whisky bar that I've been to dozens of times. Simply cannot speak highly enough of this place, from the beautiful lacquer wood bar top, truly amazing array of rare hard to find single bottlings from across the globe at great prices but where this place really shines is the service. No judgmental whisky snobs here, just good old fashion knowledgeable, friendly yet highly professional service. I love a great whisky bar, and The Elysian in Fitzroy is fabulous. A small and intimate bar with elegant decor and a wall lined with whiskies of all types; it's definitely a haven for lovers of this spirit.<br/ <br/ The drinks list is really good, and the cocktails are amazing. I enjoyed a Milo espresso martini which was a cool spin on the classic and absolutely delicious. Staff are friendly and attentive, and more than happy to offer up suggestions. It gets quite busy here, so it's clear I'm not the only one who enjoys this cool bar. The Elysian is a great place for intimate dates or group gatherings, and it's classy but welcoming vibe makes it very attractive for lovers of good whisky.
Expert service with in warm, intimate surrounds at the top end of Brunswick street. Regularly updated, themed whisky flights are available (around $30 for 3 shots) or you can choose from an enormous selection of whiskey from across the globe, cocktails, wines or beers. But the latter two are a distant afterthought to the whisky focus. A small snack menu is available (charcuterie etc) but plenty of dining is available the further you head north up Brunswick street.
We started our evening here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary with a small group of friends. This is truly a cosy, friendly venue, where Kelvin and co make you feel incredibly welcome. Nothing is too much hassle and they look after you like no where else that I have been. Music is at a very appropriate level to enjoy conversations, we had an amazing time and there was a relaxed enjoyable atmosphere. Definitely can't wait to come here again!!! After a long day we decided to try out this little whiskey bar in Fitzroy. We were welcomed by the most friendly and attentive staff. We didn't need much help with choosing something from the very (!!!) impressive range but we could've helped from overhearing the waiting staff chatting with another table about whiskeys and these guys definitely know what they're talking about. Highly recommended, would come back for sure!
For true Whisky (whiskey) aficionados this place is heaven on earth. You can't find on the planet what you can taste here, rare and rarer still. Great vibe, even greater service and great value for money (but not cheap, no not cheap). Life is short, go there, place the night in the hands of the very knowledgeable staff and enjoy.
A small bar that looks like something out of Japan. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. This bar focuses on rare and Independent Bottlings of whiskies. Most of the whiskies here cannot be found anywhere else in the country. Oh, and the cocktails were great too! Highly recommended!!!
