Our visit to The Garrison House was truly one of our favorite dining experiences during our trip to Niagara On The Lake. After a long day spent on a self guided walking tour and a visit to Fort George, we were looking for an enjoyable, relaxing dinner and we were very pleased with what we found at The Garrison House.Quite simply, this restaurant's location means that it is beyond the frenzy of the restaurants on Queen Street. This place is perfect. The menu is small and that what makes this place great. Means the meals are usually great. Great care in how it all comes together. My family ordered the burger and fries. They loved it. I tired it. Very good. The fries are fresh and perfectly salted. I had the Lamb Korma. Being from Mississauga I’m very picky about my Indian food and this was amazing! Fresh, Lamb was tender and perfectly seasoned. If you like it hot you will have to order that on the side. I had it over rice with fresh peas, cauliflower and peas. Over some basmati rice. My husband and I recently dined at this restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience! The service was outstanding, and we truly enjoyed the drinks, especially the Empress 75 and Maple Old Fashion. The food was absolutely delicious—our favorites were the Prince Edward oysters, tofu, and black lager pie, all of which were simply melt-in-your-mouth good! It’s been a long time since we've had such an experience where everything exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this place and will definitely make it a go-to spot whenever we are in town! As for vegetarian options, there are plenty to choose from!
Superb food! We decided to eat here to escape the madness of Niagra following a hectic day at the falls. No reservations and the restaurant looked full with locals but we were sat at a table and benches outside and served quickly. The halibut special was beautifully cooked and delicious with fingerling potatoes, corn chowder and mushrooms. The fried chicken was succulent and very tasty. What a fantastic restaurant! Our server, Naomi, provided outstanding service—she was quick, attentive, and incredibly kind. The manager, Natalie, was also actively involved, ensuring everything ran perfectly. She even stopped by to check in on us, and we had a lovely conversation. This was genuinely some of the best service I've experienced in a long time. You all are doing a wonderful job with management and support for your staff. Thank you!
I did accidentally leave my reading glasses at the restaurant, so I called the next day. Natalie, the restaurant manager, was very polite and helpful; she took my cell number and address and promptly sent them to me, which I received after the long weekend. Overall, the service was outstanding, the food was excellent, and it’s a fantastic place to enjoy a meal at any time of day. Thank you for everything; it was truly appreciated!
We went for lunch. The prime rib sandwich was wonderful and tavern fries were great. However, the caesar salad wasn't very good: the lettuce was partially brown, the dressing was odd tasting and the olives were cut up way too small. It sure needed something to make it a true caesar salad, definitely a miss and not worth ordering.Vegetarian options: I wish there were more, salmon would be good too
Had a wonderful experience with our server Jared. Very insightful with recommending food and drinks. Checking on us a few times considering that it was busy. Food portion and price was fair. Great spot, with super food. I had the gnocchi special, in a bacon cream sauce, which was amazing. The patio is big and spacious, which a good views of Jackson Triggs across the road. The staff were very friendly. We will definitely return.
