Popped in for a carvery today with my fiancé. Both fancied a roast after a busy day Christmas shopping, couldn’t be bothered going home to cook. We won’t be returning. Lady behind the bar was miserable. The guy behind the carvery all he did was moan about the food and how much prep he’d had to do and he was sick of sprouts and was working Christmas Day and was moaning about that. (I work Christmas myself) The food was abysmal and not even warm. Roast potatoes were rock hard. Gravy like water. No we didn’t complain as staff were not approachable at all. just wanted to get home and get warm. Cold food is just shocking. Just left the food on table and left. But looking at other reviews I await...
It was my birthday today, so I came to have some food but the food I got was wrong, I ordered an over 5s meal but we got an under 5s meal. Then we said we want to get the over 5s meal since we ordered it, but it didn’t taste like normal. I feel like this was absolutely awful as it made everyone else stop eating just since I didn’t have mine. It made me disappointed that every other child was eating and I think you ruined my birthday and made it bad.
We booked the Guelder Rose for our annual Xmas meal for our clients. This is the first time we attended this venue and we were lucky enough that they were able to accommodate all of us being a large party. We enjoyed a delicious carvery and cannot praise Imogen and her team enough, the hospitality we received throughout our meal was outstanding. We would very much like to return next year. Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon.
My daughter had the chicken burger which was nice but her chips were hard.my husband and I had the carvery the beef was nice the turkey was very dry the cauliflower was nice but bits were hard the roast potatoes were hard and didn't seem that they were roasted properly carrots were nice the parsnip were nice the Yorkshire pudding was hard

Disappointed carvery was bad only thing nice was beef and cauliflower cheese no ham, no turkey , veg empty and what there was was dry , Yorkshire pud hard as anything happened last time too as for the roast told having issues with potatoes well you shouldn't serve them then !
A real disappointment. Dingy internal appearance on entering. We went to the carvery to see 3 unattended small joints of meat and a pile of yorkshire puddings. Seating was ripped, carpet in shreds which wrapped around one of our shoes.
Very friendly staff , hot tasty food. Good veggie options. Welcoming with our dog. Very clean including the toilets. The carvery looked good, will try that on our next visit.
Great place great food , cravary is lovely and Shane always has something nice to say , and Georgia always has a smile for everyone, lovely spacious pub and nice atmosphere

Great page and the staff are fantastic. Shane is by far the best member of staff there! I'll happy come back again as long as he is working there
Good food, very freindly helpfull staff. Dog freindly so was able to eat with our large dog in a nice relaxed space.
