I visited this restaurant in early December with my friend, were were after a relaxing few hours and a great restaurant experience not had chinese for a while. When we entered the restaurant we noticed how cold the temperature was, it was only 6pm so we thought maybe but hadn 't been open long. We ordered a beer each from the waitress and then very soon after was asked 3 times if we were Ready to order , a bit pressured we thought. We always order from here as the food is the best in town but the last two orders have been very disappointing. We order the same thing pretty much every time so it's noticeable things have changed. The peking spring rolls are unseasoned and pretty tasteless and the casing is thicker. Two thirds of my salt and pepper chicken was dry, overcooked and stringy and the soft noodles were dry and tasteless. I can only assume the ownership/chefs have changed because we didn't have one meal before that was anything other than excellent but the last two have been half-eaten and binned, really disappointed.
This was our first visit for a couple of years we hadn't been in due to the previous owners having left and we were unsure what to expect. Our fears were unfounded. The interior had been spruced up, including the old carpet being replaced by wooden flooring and less tables, possibly due to Covid. The food was just as good with the staff attentive but not overbearing. We'll be back soon.
Called in on the off chance, a group of 6, and luckily the large table was free. Very welcoming staff from arrival to departure. We had Set menu B which was well priced and included all the favourites. Plenty of food for the 6 of us. Drinks well priced. Service was efficient. Yes we will return

a late Chinese new year we celebrated with a large small banquet in the jasmine in southport with really delicious spring rolls, various chicken and bark dishes with rice, dee and pfannkuchen, the desert was a little obscene, had us all in stab, a bananenfritter natural.
Turned up without a booking, party of eight. Saturday night and busy but they made space for us with minimal fuss. Food was very tasty and service was great. Brilliant value too, definitely a positive experience, left happy!
First time here, as we normally go to Cathay Garden. Not any more, as this is far superior. Generous portions without being overwhelming. Service very good. Excellent value. We will certainly be returning.
We ate here on Monday evening. Quite quiet, but it was early. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive without being in your face. We will certainly go back when we visit Southport again.

We visited tonight for the first time, we had the early bird menu, plus duck and pancakes, followed by banana fritters, it was delicious. We will definitely return.
We have been attending this restaurant under various ownership for the past 45 years, Good Friday (2022). Never had a bad meel nor bad service.
