We always look forward for our dates night at the keg, but not this time. Out of all restaraunt as in Barrie we chose to come to the Keg for our 4 year anniversary. We were very excited to come, but unfortunately left dissatisfied still hungry! Our steaks were very fatty way to chewy. My jaw was hurting from chewing. The pieces wouldn’t break down enough for me to safely even swallow. Also, the extra upgraded veggies I ordered were not cooked/ Luke warm. Our server also forgot our bread. It was clearly very busy the music was very loud. The server was very polite nice however. As a steak house we were disappointed- definitely not what we paid for or hoped for.
The Keg is not worth the money for the atmosphere they provide. This is supposed to be an upscale restaurant however it does not deliver. The very loud music does not fit. Thank you to the staff who, although they had difficulty hearing us, they were wonderful. They also allow children which creates a less enjoyable atmosphere. I would suggest they not allow children after a certain time like other fine dining establishments. The food is fantastic but this does not make up for the loud and sardine packed restaurant. I would definitely pick somewhere else to have a much more enjoyable, adult meal.
Our server Michael was fantastic, but unfortunately, the hostess who seated us wasn’t very friendly. She didn’t seem to care when I expressed my dissatisfaction with the table we were assigned. Having seven people crammed into a booth felt ridiculous; getting up to use the restroom required disrupting everyone else. Additionally, there was cold air blowing on us throughout the entire dinner, and I had to keep my coat on the whole time. It certainly didn’t create a relaxing atmosphere for my birthday celebration. While my steak was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes were barely warm.

Food is always consistent and good. The spot itself is a beautiful restaurant but the music is way too loud and feels like we are dining in a nightclub. The disheartening experience is always the service staff (Cooper, Matt, Sara to name a few). Service really lacks here. We have dined here 5 times in the last 6 months for different celebrations and events and the service is not great. We get better service at Harveys.
Prime rib was 50% fat 10% sinew and pretty tough. Don't remember the last time I had to chew the hell out of a rare prime. Asked for medium came closer to rare... WHERE IS THE BAKED BRIE?!Caesar sure got small since last year...same with the French onion soup.. 6oz bowl maybe? I cannot believe the brie was removed from the menu. Mash was gluey and almost cold.Server was good.Wife's food looked good.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our birthday last night! The Classic teriyaki sirloin was truly exceptional. Our server, Kaylee, shared her own heartfelt memories of family visits to The Keg, just like ours. We really enjoy this location, and they accept reservations! Thank you for a delightful evening at The Keg in Barrie. Parking is conveniently located right in front of the restaurant.
My fiancé and I absolutely love The Keg; the food, service, and atmosphere are consistently outstanding. Last night, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary, and Jamal was our server. He made our evening even more special with his impeccable service, and the food was delicious, as always. I love this location out of all the Kegs. The food is always prepared consistently perfect. Nicole and Todd always make sure we feel our business is appreciated, Eric, Katie, Cora, Sarah jelly, Nestany and staff always give incredible service. Dave makes the best drinks behind the bar. Bring back the half price Margs on Fridays!
