This is still one of those (surprisingly) secret restaurants that not all the locals have found yet - but they will. Had asked several people if they had eaten there and most had not....the one person I did find said she had the best burger of her entire life there. Tried this restaurant for the first time for dinner last week. Was too hot to sit outside so we sat in but I found it quite dark. Our waiter was very attentive and quick to serve us. I ordered the special, which was duck ravioli...it was not quite as I had expected...there were three very large ravioli smothered in a white sauce and chopped mushroom. Each ravioli was a different shape and one was so stuffed with duck that I found it way too rich to eat. My husband had the Chicken Alfredo Pasta which were small shell pasta - he said it was tasty. My daughter had the Seafood Risotto which had a nice selection of seafood. I wanted to like this restaurant as I have heard such great things about...
Everything pleased us from the start. Then we were seated in a table over looking windows that looked out over the town. Our server was happy and courteous and we immediately relaxed. The food was outstanding: so fresh, tasty, interesting and very satisfying. The Nest has a lovely, west coast rustic interior and we found it very pleasing It was the perfect experience .
You wouldn't think overlooking the highway would be a great spot, but perched on the edge of the hill, the Nest overlooks a large chunk of downtown Nanaimo while delivering good service, good food and a solid menu with options for everyone. This restaurant is located within walking distance of the ferry and downtown shops however it is down a side street that appears very industrial. The food and service, however, were excellent and we had wonderful food, attentive service, and a fun atmosphere.
We recently had dinner at The Nest in Nanaimo, for the very first time and it won't be the last. It was wonderful. The food was excellent, the service was wonderful and we couldn't have been happier. We'll definitely return, next time we're in the city.
Always a great meal here. I visit everytime I'm in town and the owners are always friendly, service is top notch, and the wine list and drink list have great gems and tasty options! Locally sourced and fresh made! One of my favs! Great job The Nest!
We were a group of 20+ people and the staff made us very comfortable. The food was very good - I recommend the potato crusted salmon. The service was great, the staff welcoming and personable and the atmosphere was good with a great view. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Cool spot, nice trellis, a good variety of dishes, and a good spot for groups (I went with my dragonboating team while there for the regatta.) I'd go back.
