A disappointing night at the Peppermill Restaurant. Since arriving in Baltimore last year the Peppermill was one of our regular stops. It was consistent in every way. That was not the case on our most recent visit. I am a Prime Rib fan and even though they offer Prime Rib on their Lighter Faire Menu, I always order the larger and significantly more expensive “Robust Cut”. This time when I ordered the “Robust Cur” the only thing that was “Robust” was the higher price. When I asked to speak to the manager he assumed me that I was wrong and that the cut I had been served was the “Robust Cut”. We joke here in Lutherville about the crowd at the Peppermill but had a really great meal there. Their oyster stew was among the best I’ve had (I’ll be ordering that for carryout it was that good! and my wife thought the fried oysters were excellent too. I had the Rockfish and it was very good as well. Service and atmosphere is on point. Bar area looks a bit lively! Not glitzy or flashy just a tried and true traditional standby. Good menu heavy on the ‘traditional’ entrees kind of an elevated comfort food and entrees include sides. They have a very loyal clientele and I know why!
Our party of ten arrived at 6:00 for dinner. We were promptly visited by our server who brought rolls and took drink orders. For dinner, we ordered ribs, scallops, salmon, lamb chops, prime rib and fish. Everyone was thrilled with their entrees. Desserts included chocolate cake, creme brulee, sundaes and pumpkin pie. We were very impressed by the terrific service and delectable food. Can't wait to return.
Went for dinner. Food and service was fine. Nothing special. But restaurant seems outdated. Although, I understand it was renovated during covid. I don't see it. It's probably a one and done for us. Great meal at Peppermill celebrating a friend's 75th birthday! He used to come with his late Mom, and he was so happy that we surprised him by taking him there. Our server, Danna, was great efficient and friendly. The food was excellent prepared and delicious!
As always, the food was delicious. I have never had a disappointing meal or cocktail in over 40 years.
The Peppermill is a welcoming place to dine. Food and service are always good. One of my favorites!
