I have been by here about four or five times.. I've gone back once to eat, and I'm not going back there to eat, the other times I have delivered food for Uber eats... This restaurant was conveniently located just across the street from the hotel where we were staying. We decided to have dinner there, and when we arrived, we were the only customers in the place. We were told to sit wherever we liked, but after that, we waited about 5-10 minutes for someone to take our drink order, which felt a bit excessive given that we were the only ones dining. Unfortunately, the spice level of our meals did not match what we had requested. Toward the end of our meal, we ran out of drinks, and no one came by to check on us for refills. Went here on a Friday, late afternoon. There was no one in the restaurant. A few people came for pickup. We ordered 2 separate create your own boils. We ordered the same items for each, but with different sauces . Neither one had what was ordered. They have a sign posted to check your order before leaving...It's hard to do, and could get quite messy opening up that bag! We didn't complain. We just shared some things. I asked to make mine hot. I guess they don't know how to do that either ?. We live seafood, and this was easier than doing a boil ourselves.
Exceeded our expectations! There were only a handful of people dining in when we arrived and we wondered if that was a bad sign, however I'm glad we went with our gut and chose to stay and eat. The food was GREAT and the service was as well. The shrimp boil, kings seasoning, medium with potato and corn was the best thing we tried. Full of flavor and just the right spice. I was very impressed with how eclectic the staff pool was. I was actually amazed. However, all of the fried portions that I had seem as if they were all cooked in the same oil. It was not good and I don't see it getting any better. This is a family restaurant, but they do serve alcohol which is good. However the bartender is very inexperienced. Therefore, either know the exact ingredients for your mixed drink or stick with beer.
All the food was hot and fresh! You could tell it was made to order. The fish was fairly bland but the chicken tenders were great and seasoned right. The boil came with a good amount of shrimp but weirdly only one little baby potato. Hard to understand since potatoes are as cheap as dirt. The only reason for the three was the filthy hot sauce bottle that was not the right color, and the dusty dirty walls.
When they first opened, the food was excellent, but now the sauce tastes and looks watered down. It’s very different from what it used to be, and I rarely see anyone there anymore. The manager, a woman who struggles with English, has a nasty attitude. I won't be returning. Rating: 1/5.
