Relaxed and inviting with Asian accents, mirrors on the walls to make it appear larger. Their menu has a variety of foods from a variety of Asian cuisines (Thai, Malaysian, Singapore and Chinese ). What I like is that the food is always fresh and there are dishes I can't get other places, like the mushrooms and basil with a bit of tropical sauce. Their prawn rolls are crispy and very tasty. Favourites are the deep fried tofu, garlic ribs,crispy beef, honey-glazed chicken wings, and no meal would be complete without their house special crispy egg noodles with seafood, chicken and veggies.There are many dishes for vegetarians. Delicious food in a nice, laid-back atmosphere. All the dishes we tried had something special in them that elevated their flavour profile. The green chicken curry was light and citrusy, the tropical beef is tender, and the mushroom platter is like nothing we've tried before. The server was super busy but a total pro -- the table behind us customised every dish they ordered and she didn't bat an eye. We will definitely return!
the service people were friendly and they were effecient the food choices were quite different with as the name suggests tropical varieties Japanese Korean Chinese hawiin. I had a seafood platter that was excellent the calamari were done perfectly my wife had a crispy noodle dish which was also excellent. Their prices are reasonable and we would certainly recommend giving it a try.
We dined at the Tropical Island again last evening. It was better than ever. We lived in South East Asia for over 30 years and know what the authentic version is. We had a variety including one of our party who ate vegetarian only. Personally, I am a seafood fan and this is the best !!! Try it. A REAL treat !!!
We were looking for somewhere for a quiet lunch - which we found with Tropical Island.......The new menu looked interesting and we both chose "F" from the lunch menu.However, although tasty, the downside were the two chicken kabab skewers as a fair percentage of the chicken was rather gristly......
We've been coming here for over 5 years! The food is always fresh, the service is friendly and attentive. Always our first choice for place to eat.Highlights from the menu:Spicy Basil Ribs; Pad Thai; Honey Garlic Chicken; Singapore Curried Noodles; Green Beans in Sambala Sauce.
We eat here all the time and really enjoy it. They have a blend of various Asian type spices. I love their signature tropical island fish and beef dishes. They also have a great red curry chicken dish. Spring rolls and shrimp rolls are also a regular. Enjoyable every time!
Everything we tried on their extensive menu was excellent. Menu items are mostly Indonesian, Malaysian and Thai based. In addition the their regular menu they often have specials depending on what ingredients they are able to obtain.
There are a lot of gluten-free options available at this restaurant, which made my celiac heart very happy! It had been a long time since I had Asian food like this. The server was very friendly and the prices were reasonable.
