Had another great lunch at The Walnut. Service and ambiance are great. I appreciate that you can seat yourself and don't have to hassle with a host/hostess. Vegan/gluten free options are available along with a full menu. Street parking is available, otherwise a nice place to meet folks for lunch. Cheers!
This place has delicious, American, pub-style food and wonderful service. Everything is favorable for the quality you receive. Could they use a little extra Pizazz in the interior? Sure. Sometimes it feels cold. But overall a consistently good experience from staff and kitchen.
This is hands down my favorite bar/restaurant on the west side of downtown and possibly all of Des Moines. The food is fantastic, they have a small but well-curated craft beer selection, cocktails are on point, the staff is great, and the atmosphere can’t be beat.
Easily our go-to spot in Des Moines. My wife and I usually get the Sweet and Spicy Vegan Bowl (but add chicken), the chicken Philly with parm fries, and the pretzel bites. But no matter what we get, it’s always good. Good food, good vibe, good service.
Excellent lunch. We had the Tabasco Turkey Melt, Burger and the Turkey BLT. All were amazing. The Melt came out later because esomeone had handed it to another table, but they were apologetic and got it out as quickly as possible.
Can't recommend the place enough!! Great food, great atmosphere, great drinks, great service. Plus reasonable prices make this my number 1 go to when in the down town area

Great restaurant! The royal bird could be the best chicken sandwich I had! Good local beers on tap and beautiful wet bar options also.
