I’d been admiring The Whistling Badger from afar on social media, and was determined to visit on a recent trip to the UK. It’s a very pleasant spot in a very pleasant town, quite clean and tidy. I ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings, not realizing that my burger came with fries. My wife got an order of fries as well, and between the two orders we had a massive amount of potatoes! They were quite good, and we managed to plow through most of them. My cheeseburger was very good, and generously built with two patties. Staying in Llanidloes and decided to go to this pub for tea. Not dog friendly inside. Had a meal in the marquee at the back. Fish, chips and peas was my choice. The fish was clearly a supermarket, battered cod, which was cooked until very, very dark brown, almost burnt. My partner had tacos with the smallest amount of cheese. Most were left.
Great beer garden for the warmer months. Just been to a wake there on Wednesday for one of our closest friends. The food provided was quality. Ambiance was perfect for the occasion. What a great way to say goodbye to a near and dear friend. Lots of tears shed but the staff were perfect. Thanks and well done.
Great beer and a quaint, small garden at the back next to a small carpark. Disappointed that we didn't get to eat there and wish when they told us they didn't do food on a Monday, they had said and not on a Tuesday either. Could have saved us a trip. Lovely friendly staff.

Very friendly pub bristling with locals, always a good sign. Burger night so menu limited but was presented well and tasted great.
