The Whistling Badger

I stayed at this pub for 2 nights in early August 2017 and was impressed by its character. The rates were very reasonable and the rooms, while basic, were clean and quiet. I appreciated the little touches like fresh water, coffee, tea, and biscuits in the room, as well as the nice hot shower and toiletries provided. The breakfast had a good selection of cereals, fresh fruit, toast, yogurt, and the coffee was excellent. However, what really stood out to me was the friendly and helpful staff, especially Tom who went above and beyond to assist me. I would definitely stay here again!

Booked a room in desperation having messed up a booking elsewhere. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. Beer was very well kept. Room was revolting. Sash window was broken and had to be held open with a coat hanger. Situated over the kitchen and the smell of old grease was overwhelming on a hot night. On visiting shower room down a short corridor I nearly brained myself on a low lintel, TWICE no warning signs or padding. You might ask: “What do expect for sixty quid?” more than this!
