I visited This That Café on Soap Street in Manchester during National Curry week. Despite a disappointing start to the day with a dirty train ride into the city, I was excited to try the food at This That Café after hearing great reviews. The café is located in a hard-to-find side street in the Northern Quarter. The ordering process involved choosing rice and three curry dishes from a selection. The food was decent but left a strange taste in my mouth. The café is not fancy and does not serve alcohol, but it is very affordable. Overall, This That Café is a good option for cheap and simple food, but if you're looking for a more upscale experience, I recommend going to Dishoom on Bridge Street...
First time here on a recommendation and have to say what a great place this is and refreshingly a bit different, good choice of curry’s all really flavoursome, decent portion and incredible value, you can add some extras if you want and all served with fresh Nan or chapati etc. The team were very friendly and helpful,recognised I hadn’t been in before and really made you feel welcome. You sit on the benches to eat and there is a good atmosphere and buzz to the place, it’s certainly very popular and no surprise, will now be making this a regular place to go when in Manchester, well recommended.
Tried the Wednesday menu. Some of the best South Asian food I've eaten in recent memory (beware though, can be spicy for some)! The mango lassi and the garlic naan were both also delicious and highly recommended. Absolutely fantastic food and taste, at an incredible price and served with a smile and great attitude from the staff thanks Mo and team! Excellent model of restaurant and I wish you another 40 years of success and beyond. What a hidden gem that I will forever recommend to everyone!
I first discovered this restaurant during my university years and recently revisited with a friend who is a regular customer. While the place has undergone a visual transformation, the authenticity remains unchanged. If you're looking for delicious Pakistani cuisine at an affordable price, this is the spot for you. The restaurant is still just as perfect as I remember, even though I haven't been in a while. The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly. It's also great value for money - you can get a plate of rice and three vegetable curries for only £6. Absolutely perfect.
Fabulous Indian food served simply. Pile on as much fresh green chilli and onion as you want. Second time here, if I was local I'd go twice a week. Friendly service and home cooked, fresh and flavoursome.
Visited this place 15 years ago on a visit to Manchester, pleased to return and report that it was just as good as I remembered. Lots of choice, lots of flavours, great value and highly recommended.

Absolutely mint. Loads to choose from, big portions and help yourself to coriander, sauce and fresh chillies. Looks like a bit of a dive but flavours are banging.
