The ambiance was inviting, and our server was very friendly and accommodating. When I asked about the soup of the day and her opinion on the Chicken Gumbo, she hesitated before offering me a sample. It was just okay, so I opted for a bowl of crab soup, which was decent but not warm enough. My husband ordered the French toast with bacon and was disappointed; it was flat and had an unusual taste. We ordered the s’mores latte, but it didn't resemble the one in the picture at all. Ours was just a plain latte loaded with sugar, and it didn't include any marshmallows, graham crackers, or chocolate syrup. After one sip, we informed the server that it wasn't what we had expected. Unfortunately, she didn't apologize or offer to remove it from the bill. So, be cautious about believing everything you see on their menu. And to the team at Toast: if you can't recreate the image, it's better not to offer that item at all.
I had an amazing experience at the restaurant, thanks to the fantastic service from Ashley. The sweet tea fried chicken served on house-made biscuits was delicious, complemented perfectly by the cheesy grits and a side of fried green tomatoes. I enjoyed a mimosa along with a sweet tea to take with me, which made for the perfect fuel for a day of adventure. I highly recommend this place and look forward to visiting again. I usually enjoy brunch at the downtown Charleston location, but recently I stopped for breakfast takeout in the Mt. Pleasant area, and it was fantastic! Everything is made fresh to order. While the prices are a bit high and parking at this location can be a nightmare, the food consistently earns a perfect 5/5! I highly recommend trying the shrimp and grits; that's typically my favorite dish.
The food was fantastic! I absolutely loved our server, Ashley—she was very attentive and had a wonderful personality. On a side note, the host who was supposed to greet us had a very negative attitude and completely ignored us at the door. Thank you again, Ashley, for seating us and being so kind!
