Oh what a night out to savour.... Traditional India is our most favourite Indian restaurant in Queensland! So, yes, this trip advice is undoubtedly biased! But OMG the food is devine, and the lingering tastes in my mouth afterwards is a recurring reminder of a wonderful evening with my family. My wife and I went to Traditional India for our 26th wedding anniversary dinner. It was my wife's choice and she was looking to surprise me with an authentic taste of Indian food. I was not disappointed!! The food was amazing, we had a mixed entree to start, I had the Goan fish curry (a meal I just didn't want to end) and my wife had the Goat curry, which was also delish. Even the garlic naan was a revelation, as it was so light, compared with the ones we usually get from our local Indian restaurant. We stumbled across this local restaurant one week night and dropped in for an after work meal. We were both impressed with the food and the friendly service. On the owner's recommendation we tried the Mint Chicken which we had never tried before. It was delicious and has been one of the dishes we have returned to this restaurant for again and again. If you are looking for terrific food in a friendly family restaurant, Traditional India is perfect. Look out for the week night dinner specials advertised on the board as you enter.
We have had the pleasure of dining at Indian Traditional on a couple of occasions now - the service is always extremely welcoming and seating comfortable. Love the ambience of the restaurant with the streamed live modern india music playing in the background. The menu offers a selection of fresh, flavoursome vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Lunchtime deal for $12 eat in (takeaway $10) includes half-portion, rice and naan really good value - I went for my usual chicken tikka masala and was not disappointed. Starters (which were extra to the deal) rather overpriced IMO - 4 onion bhajis for $8. They have a BYO policy, although not for soft drinks or juice. All in all a decent place for an Indian, would have probably given 3 1/2 stars overall
Visited Traditional India last night, seemed quiet but warm welcome from Lady of the House. Food was the best Indian we have found in Qld. Onion Bhajis and homemade Samosas where the best. Had to wait a bit for the main, but staff did apologize.Top Place will definitely go back soon
