This is a fantastic place to visit with a group, especially if you have kids. The atmosphere is lively with the sound of TVs playing, and the paragliding decorations are adorable for children without being overstimulating. I should mention that it's not primarily a BBQ spot. I ordered a brisket sandwich, which was just okay, and the corn that came with it was soggy. However, the grilled calamari and the two Cuban sandwiches were outstanding. We have friends who are considering a move to Lake County, so we wanted to treat them to a nice dinner—naturally, we chose Bobby’s! We received exceptional service at the bar, and although we wanted to enjoy a drink before being seated, they kindly moved us to our table. Our waiter was friendly, entertaining, and full of energy. Many restaurants struggle with preparing halibut, but no one does it better than Bobby’s. They usually offer about three specials each night, and the fennel-crusted halibut was absolutely perfect—be sure to go while it's in season! If not for the great schools and strong real estate values, our friends would certainly visit Bobby’s more often after leaving Deerfield.
Trax remains inconsistent. This time, the service was better, but the quality of the food has declined. While there are many TVs that make it a great spot for watching sports, paying $80 for a beer and burger makes me wish for a better dining experience.
