my friend and I chose umi for our prom night dinner and we could not have been happier with the experience. we were welcome, although we were too late for our reservation, the service was fast and immaculate, and the food was fabulous. it is a small restaurant that is for a very peaceful environment and my friend and I will definitely return! umi is a hidden gem and a great choice to dinner!
I love umi! reservation only, but worth every bit of waiting. the hostess is one of the best in hickory, considering that she is the only person who works the floor; she visits every table quickly conversation with every person there. the chef is excellent, eating comes fast is absolutely delicious. 5 stars light
nice friendly environment-very clean. I am uncertain about animal products in the miso suppe. I asked the owner and she gave her word that no animals were products in suppee. that's still on this one.
