I recently visited Union Coffee to order a latte, and my experience was deeply upsetting. When I asked about the menu, the staff member responded in a condescending manner, asking if I knew how to order. Instead of helping, they took my white cane and broke it over their knee. They then pushed me out the door, causing me to fall on my back, while they shouted that I wasn't welcome there. I had to crawl home on my hands and knees, feeling my way along the ground. This encounter has left me wondering if they even recognize their own ableism. I don't think I can ever enjoy a cup of coffee again without being reminded of this traumatic experience.
My favorite coffee shop in the area, and it 's walkable from my house! I 've never had a bad drink here and also love their breakfast sandwiches. It 's also my toddler daughter 's favorite spot—she always asks if we can go to her coffee shop! She loves a kid 's hot cocoa and a blueberry muffin, and will happily play for hours upstairs with their play kitchen. Win-win for mama and kiddo! This is one place I always recommend people visit if they 're in the area, and it never disappoints!
Always feels like the right decision to find myself sitting in their window with the ponytail palm drinking a hojicha latte and sharing pastries with my SO and kids.

It echos awkwardly. Needs curtains and carpets. Plants lamps tables award to sit and drink coffee. Not comfortable for a brief business meeting.
I drive 30 minutes out of my way just to enjoy their food, coffee, and atmosphere. If you haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for?
