moved to Ottawa (Vanier) 3 years ago, found out that Wal-Mart is at Trainyards. as i was walking to Wal-Mart, i stumbled upon The Whitehorse Restaurant, decided to go have some coffee as a Pit Stop. thought i’ll probably like the place if i stop by another time, so i did stop by another time i wasn’t disappointed. this White Horse Restaurant is one of the places i usually come back to, due to their awesome food. fairly large, different varieties of food choices actually but i usually grab the same 3 or 4 same old choices whenever i’m there. what really surprises me is that it’s a Family Owned/one and only type of restaurant. which makes the place seem that much more special. they cater to la...
On the outside this place looks dated but always has cars in the lot. On a whim my partner and I decided to have breakfast here. I'm so glad we did! Yes, its dated and has mismatched chairs but it feels homey. Staff are friendly and helpful. They give attention to each customer no matter how old or young. The food....so good. Prices are great. Give this place a chance, you wont regret it
Great place for excellent breakfast. The owner and servers are really polite and kind. Many regular patrons and they are warmly greeted like good friends. The food was good, excellent portions and very affordable. We had the BELT (bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato) sandwich, and the two eggs with home fries and corn beef hash and toast, with a tea and coffee (bottomless) and it came to $17.50
Had a fantastic and delicious simple breakfast (eggs, toast, potatoes). Decor was homely to me. Felt like I was at my aunt's place for some great home-cooked meal. I think it's a family run restaurant, which is always a wonderful thing to support. Highly suggest to pass by. Very friendly staff as well. Understand why people become a regular here.
If you had anywhere else in mind for breakfast, forget about it right away and come here instead. Amazing food. Hot, fresh, homemade. 10/10. This was my first time here so I haven't tried any of the lunch/dinner options, but if it's anything like their breakfast, this will be my new favorite spot.
The best HOT TURKEY/HOT CHICKEN sandwich with mash or fries .The gravy is perfect and the service is brilliant and friendly. OH! and the club sandwich is amazing.Next up, the Monte Cristo sandwich.Supporting this restaurant is supporting #LOCAL business. Really,really good food.
Mike and Rachel run a local family restaurant. High value for your dollar. Although I wish they would shrink their menu a bit and focus what they are great on. Some of the best soups in the city, and the hamburgers are great. All day breakfasts are the best value in town.
