Has this place changed hands?Food is tasty, but cant compete with following:Even worse when only 3 tables had people.Could not get waitress attention Served main with no eating utensals given, had to call the waitress back.Then no serviettes.Drinks ran dry every time had to almost yell for service. Had to ask waitress to clear table between every course , isn't this expected?After main we ended up clearing table ourselves after 15 minutes. Shifted the plates next door. This place is very busy and very popular, the staff are run off their feet, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, but always so helpful and very friendly quick service. My daughter and family go here often, it was my first time. Everything was so fresh and tasty. We shared Pad Thai, great! Miso eggplant, wonderful! Teriyaki noodles with chicken, great! The dumplings were wonderful! Prawn, prawn and leek, and scallop dumplings. A group of six of us went here for lunch this week. The restaurant was about half full. We ordered from the lunch specials altogether and after about 30 minutes the first dish came out, this dish was also what I had ordered so I was surprised that my lunch didn't arrive for another 15 or so minutes, all 6 of us actually ate separately!? Food was ok, though I didn't really enjoy eating whilst all my colleagues watched and after a 45 minute wait; in rather a rush. Cost about $15 per head for special and soft drink.
I reckon cards are convenient and I love my slim wallet and not having to fumble around with coins and lots of notes. So I object when a vendor tries to whack me for using a common payment method that I like. The Wockbar does...this in the form of a 5% discount for cash along with a credit card surcharge. So I guess you can do this if you like and I won't come back because I don't like it.

It was a busy lunch time at the 'The Strand", Dee Why.We were seated at the balcony looking over the beach - it was a great locating for a meal.Our meals were tasty and the three of us enjoyed them - the restaurant was very busy and so the service seemed to be a bit thin on the ground.
Love the quick no fuss feed here at Wok bar - great range of dishes to share or not share, your choice! You can BYO wine to enjoy with your meal, and if you get a window seat can take in the sights of dee why beach below. A great place to dine with friends and family within a budget
We have been dining regularly here for 4 years and love the view, atmosphere, food & service. It is the perfect venue for all occasions. Thank you to Mat & his staff for always being so friendly & welcoming to our family. Keep up the great work!
we enjoyed an early meal with a 4 year old and family. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, we all enjoyed our Malaysian style meals though it's easy to over order as the mains are substantial.

I had lunch here twice with my boyfriend because we wanted to enjoy the view from the restaurant, which is amazing. On the other hand the food is nothing extraordinary, quite average .
Good and tasty food, but unfurtunately both times that I ate there I felt sick. Nice view of Dee Why beach.
