Went to the Woodman Arms last night with my husband and a friend and each one of us had a lovely meal. We were greeted with a genuine smile from the young lady at the bar when we arrived and shown to our table which was in the restaurant area of the pub, what a lovely place to have a chat and a meal, the background music was just at the right level and the chairs were very comfortable. You could see the beautifully kept garden area outside and all in all it was a very pleasant place to have a meal. The portions of food were very generous and we all commented on how each other’s meals were totally delicious. We booked again before we left to make sure we get a table, I can imagine it gets boo...
What a fantastic evening we had! There were many intriguing items on the specials board, but we ultimately opted for the woodman steak special, and it was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and so tender that it nearly melted in our mouths. It was served atop a mound of mushrooms and new potatoes, accompanied by a delightful side salad. The service was excellent, and the amaretto tiramisu was the perfect sweet ending to our meal.
Great camper stop with adjacent field in good weather and good climbing frame and swings for the children!. Very helpful and hospitable. Food is reasonable and has good selection of beers. It is near the road but not too much traffic after 10pm. They could put in electric hookup and a water tap to make this a perfect place for motorhomes but definitely up there with the better pub stops!
I drove several times from this pub and always wanted to jump in. beautiful that I did it, as it was nice, inside, with friendly, polite staff and great ales. it didn't eat, but next time I wanted to give myself more time. many parking spaces outside.
