We have been going to Yoshi's Sushi since it opened. It was our favourite restaurant in Victoria. We have not been for many years, however decided to meet a family member there for dinner. In the past the tempura was delicious; light batter, very crispy and delicious. The assorted Tempura used to come with prawns. We ordered it this time as an appetizer - it arrived , thickly battered and soggy. There were no prawns and only about 8 - 10 veggies. Pretty pricey at $13.95. We had to ask for side plates and sauce dishes. Only one dish of tempura dipping sauce was offered. We each ordered the Robata Oysters which were ok (but not as good as they used to be). We shared a few rolls - one was medio...
Called in this restaurant for lunch and selected a noodle dish off the menu. When the food came the plate was ice cold and the noodles hot upon leaving the kitchen, which cooled down immediately. We stated to the waitress that the food was not hot like it should be and that a hot dish has to be served on a hot plate, to which we were told in an aggressive way that sushi has to be served on a cold plate? But this is not sushi we stated and she said they only use cold plates for everything.........again with an aggressive demeanor ! Most certainly will not visit this establishment again!
we've ordered take-out, and even though we were late for pick-up we still had to wait additional 15 min 'cuz they were not ready. and the reception lady wasn't nice about it but rather defensive borderline rude.on the positive note the food wasn't so bad. sushi was average, but the chicken teriyaki was pretty good so we can recommend it.
Yoshi is the best kept sushi secret in the city. The chefs are talented and the fish is exceptionally fresh. If that's not enough, the price is amazingly reasonable. I pay a fraction here what I pay elsewhere. The staff is friendly and fast. The atmosphere is both cozy and lively. I go here often, but not often enough! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Loved this place! Love the boat!The place is in need of a facelift. My partner jokes in had not changed since she was there 10 yrs ago!But, other than that it's a fun, quiet place to go for some yummy sushi and a few drinks.We go 2-3 times a month and the price is always right!
Had the miso soup, salmon and tuna sashimi and a rainbow roll. Over all taste good although I would prefer wild salmon. Yellow ginger served is good since a lot of pink ginger is sweetened with aspartame.Quick and friendly service. The private booths are also nice.
We came here based on the other trip advisor reviews and were very disappointed. Every roll we ordered tasted the same. Very disappointed and would not recommend Yoshi to anyone who has had good quality sushi.
