I love this place, love, love him. Service is great. Cheese curds are the best. They're expensive, the cheese cures, but it's not all. You often have to change the oil, peanut oil probably. Because they are perfectly cooked golden brown. Have a band almost every weekend. No cover. And yes, it's loud. But a number of cheap earplugs do it all well. How are the boys and Gals behind the bar? I have read some of the other reviews and some mentioned the lack of service behind the bar. You're short on how most of the shops are. I was always served within a few minutes, even in the night of the band.
Great friendly atmosphere. Clean indoor and outdoor seating for both large and small groups.There's a great patio deck area with a view of the river where you can watch boats pass by or listen to calm of the water.They cater and invite cyclists to stop by for a moment to enjoy a beverage and the sights. There is ample room to park your bike and some tools available for quick repairs.They are right along the trail and a great place to meet your group and start your ride with plenty of parking for cars.
This place is great because of its location and outdoor area along the river. However, while the drinks are priced typically for Des Moines, the food prices are outrageous. Idk why they think it's okay to charge $11 or $12 dollars for a burger with no sides. Eat someplace else before you come. That's why I'm giving it three stars.
If you are looking for a kid friendly, dog friendly, or just a vibe friendly place, this is it! I’ve been frequently here in the summer and have never had a bad experience. Always fast and attentive staff even when they are packed. We love it here. Also their curly fries and bacon cheddar cheese burgers are my kids favorite .
Food was good except wanted fried pickles and they were out. Had to clean our table off tho. Loud inside and then there was a screeching cat that began to play music and made it even worse. Ugh. They owe me a set of ear drums. Save the music for outside-too small of an area inside. Not impressed. May try again but may not.
Friendly little place with amazing bands and a beautiful outdoor area! If you like good beer, great music with pub food and a beautiful atmosphere right in front of downtown, this is the place.
The best place to beat before the water.. they have corn hole and fast friendly service .. decent beer selection and good food, but lack and slip in that they do not have DRAFT beer :

You have Bingo on Wednesday 6-8. My kids like to play. Nachos are good and they make a good Shirley temple.
