Picking up the food was straightforward, but parking could be tricky, so it’s best to have someone who can hop out and grab the order. We have ordered tacos here since they opened at the U Street location. Tacos made my owner were amazing. We enjoyed them so much that we would order the 12 taco platter. Now that the owner has opened at the downtown food court the U Street location has gone down hill. Tonight's 12 taco platter had about half the lamb, beef, and mushrooms as we usually receive. As soon as we opened the lid of the container we could tell that these tacos were made by someone who did not really care about making great food. Hands down one of the best taco spots in the area. The food is amazing. The Birria tacos and consommé is off the charts. The salsa’s on the side also complement the food they serve. It’s takeout only and they have two windows but no entry to the store front building. It’s convenient for those walking(U street) but driving to pick your food up is a headache seeing the parking is scarce everywhere in that area. This might be one of the best birria tacos I've ever had. We order them from DoorDash one night a little after midnight, and they came piping, hot and ready to eat. There were many different options to choose from of different proteins but we wanted to keep it simple. The three tacos were more than enough for me, and kept me full all night. The cheese was so delicious and the flavors were packed in the consume. Definitely something I will grab again if I'm looking for late night tacos!

During my week-long stay in DC, I visited multiple times because the food was consistently wonderful and skillfully prepared. I particularly enjoyed the tacos and the Mexican soup, which struck the perfect balance of savory and spicy flavors. The corn tortillas, while simple, are an essential part of a lunch that is both satisfying and light. I highly recommend this place!
Ordered the xochi platter which has tacos and birria tacos but was missing the salsas for my tacos and I don't know if the birria tacos come with consume but it was missing the consume but overall taqueria xochi is my favorite everything is so delicious and their mangonadas are better than the mangonadas for la michoacana!Update: the food is good but a little pricey !
