Definitely tucked out of the way, behind the other restaurants, Embers is a wood paneled monument to the traditional fine dining restaurant. It is not for the tight-fisted, budget minded diner. With that out of the way, let's talk about the food.Embers prides itself on having great steaks and it certainly lived up to that. I have my steaks rare, so it's hard to hide a bad piece of meat. My steak was about as tender as I've had over the years. It could have been a fraction hotter. But when you have rare, you never really get a blazing hot steak. It was tasty, and at 200gms, perfect for me.There are plenty of reviews out there complaining about paying extra for sauces and vegetables. Get over...
Second visit to Embers. Four of us for dinner on a Friday evening.From the moment we arrived, we were made welcome. Amongst the four of us we had a variety of steaks and one had pork spare ribs. I am particularly picky about steak and don't like it too well done (and not too thin either) and the rare sirloin was perfect. Properly caramelised exterior and deep, juicy pink interior. All at our table said that they enjoyed their meals.Good wine list, made better by having a (small) selection of half bottles (My partner doesn't like red wine and I cannot finish a whole bottle alone so halves work perfectly for me). Recommended by a friend who insists that this is one of the best steak houses in Brisbane. The steaks (rumps and rib eye) were great, cooked just right (medium rare) with fantastic flavours. We also order the stuffed mushrooms and prawns for entree however they were so so.
Although the food was great, I do think that the dishes were overpriced (more than $50 per steak and extra $4 for sauce) and those seeking value more money should look elsewhere. Service could also be improved as it took over 45 minutes for the mains to arrive.
I had the small eye fillet (choice of 2 sizes) which was cooked beautifully. We ordered two vegetable side dishes for 6 of us and it seemed to be just right, the mains came with either baked potato or chips. Everyone had varied starters which everyone enjoyed, I shared the BBQ prawns and they to were cooked just right. Dessert menu was limited but who can say no to Sticky date pudding. My only complaint would be that it was a warm night and the air conditioner didn't seem to be on at times.

We have just moved into the area , walking our dog exploring all the hidden gems restaurants we came across Embers. Booked a table we certainly weren't disappointed. The service was great made us feel very welcome. We were presented with the wine list a selection of wines. The steak we chose was cooked to perfection. We will certainly be customers again for sure.
Embers is my go to restaurant for steak and ribs in Brisbane. Consistent food, the best onion rings I've have. Great sauces. Only negative is sometimes (often) the waitresses spray the tables for cleaning (which smells of cleaner) during the evening for end of night cleaning well before customers have finished eating. Highly recommend visiting.
Came here with my partner to enjoy a steak. And we were pleasantly surprised. The steaks and mushroom sauce was delightful and cook to perfection. We actually ordered a third steak to share for lunch the next day. The staff were very friendly and even though it was past their closing time they did not rush us put, which is nice.Thankyou
We went as a family group to celebrate. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was very good and the food was excellent. The meals were served fairly quickly also. The cost of the meal was equivalent to what you would pay elsewhere. I had steak of course and it was delicious. We were very happy overall and would definitely go again.

We had a lovely couple of steaks and entrees. The steaks were fantastic and the wine list was varied enough to find a couple you would enjoy. The staff were attentive enough to be respectful but not overbearing (my wife and I were deep in conversation all meal). Thoroughly enjoyed my steak and mushroom entree.
Loved it. Absolutely loved it. The rib fillet was cooked to perfection. The gravy was divine and the fried onions were crispy with the bowel cleaned dry. Will be back again
