As this was not my choice for dining, I had to go along to it for a relative's birthday.I can't even fathom, why there were so many people here. There is possibly one of two reasons you would go this "restaurant".1) Your taste buds have been destroyed in some random mouth attack, that leaves you unable to enjoy flavor or texture of food, for the rest of your life.2) You had a bet with someone that you can consume food and have it come out of your body in a projectile fashion.I knew it was bad when my children refused to eat the chips or ice cream. Don't waste your money or time coming here. I have been going to Foodstar in Sunshine for a very long time as my elderly parents love the variety of food. After today's visit, I don't think we will be going back. The place seemed quieter than usual (maybe due to the public holiday long weekend) and the staff seemed thin on the floor and very slow in replacing the food in the bain maries. First time we have experienced this. It appeared the care factor for the paying customer was zero. The food has never been of some great quality, but it was tasty enough and we never experienced any illness at any time we visited. The service and selection of food, or rather lack of it, today did not warrant...
Do not come here. I would not even eat here even if I was paid to. This place is ridiculously filthy, everything is old and the food is disgusting. I give this place a 1 star for the fried chicken which wasn't too bad. I took home all of of the food I didn't eat to give to my dogs. Even then my little puppy (who eats everything) was a little sceptical. Waste of money. I felt so sick and pretty sure I needed to be blessed by Holy water to cleanse my soul. I'm not exaggerating by the way. This place really needs to be shut down. If I had enough money I would sue for protection of the public from this filthy place. Yuck yuck yuck . Save your money and go to a nice buffet place in the city.
The most disgusting experience of my life was going to Food Star in Sunshine this Mother's Day. There was little or no food most of the time, and what was provided was terrible. When it came to having the dessert, none was left. And the icing on the cake was when I went to use the bathrooms, they were covered in filth, over the floors, the walls and the toilets. I had to ask six times and wait 30 minutes for them to clean it and was abused by the manager for inconveniencing the staff. NEVER AGAIN!

As soon as you walk in the door you can see that this place is out of the 70s. The carpet are dirty and stained, the toilets are scary dirty, tables and chairs haven't been replaced in 15 years, dining area is dark and dull. Food is ok, sit close to the bainmarie to eat as the food comes out hot and fresh. The crab almost makes it worthwhile going there.
My family have been going here for years but in the most recent years, it seems only a last resort kind of place to go. Uts definitely not my first preference. Not even my in my top 10 but will go here when we're really starving & on a budget. I must also warn you, be prepared for a sore stomach. The last 3 out of 5 times we went, we defintely got it.

Food is always the same does not change. Slow at topping up. Especially on busy nights with big crowds. It would be nice if dishes change every so often. Only come due to convinience otherwise better buffets out there.
