As a hotel guest, we decided to spend an evening at the restaurant of the big barracks around a dinner. the frame is really beautiful, but the service is at the limit of amateurism. the hotel master is clearly not up to the height and it feels on the service in general. We had booked for 8:30 in the Moorish Room and the hotel master made us wait 15 minutes to finally head to another room. I allowed myself to tell him that we had booked in another room so that we could go on what we had booked. Then we took the menu at 55€ with a 3-win agreement. sublime restaurant rooms - for us the glass- in just as sublime castle, 3km before saint emilion. reception of the staff at the top. has the statement of our name the hostess knew immediately that we were invited by our children for our 50 years of marriage! very good tasting meal. reasonable portions for a 6-service menu. excellent dishes on appropriate plates.....I loved !!!! the only small flat...... the cheese tray (remained a small piece of county that could have been replaced for the presentation!) do not hesitate to push the door... ...peoples and taste buds to the appointment.
We had dinner with a couple at the restaurant du Grand Barrail on Monday, July 24, 2017. we took the local menu at 55€: very correct but classic. Not surprising. Everything remains controlled but it lacks a little fantasy. However, this may not be what the establishment is looking for. We are Bordeaux and I think this restaurant is intended to seduce foreign guests passing through the region and not local customers. Small note also on the service that would be needed to improve. A little cold.
we stayed in the hotel and therefore took advantage of our stay to test the restaurant. Excellent service, delicious dishes worthy of a starred restaurant. Small flat on the sommelier who served us during our evening. by giving information that our opinion was not relevant to the tasting and understanding the chord and wines. However, the wines proposed were good.

the best hotel and restaurant we've made so far! our most beautiful breakfast, both by the frame and the gustatively, many products are local and everything is made home, irreproachable quality, it is really a pleasure. The evening meal made us discover a lot of new flavours. Everything was perfect, we will certainly return to it as soon as possible.
