Translated from the Italian meaning tulip, Il Tulipano is a catering establishment for special occasions (wedding, christening, shower, anniversary) located in Cedar Grove. First timers here as my partner and I attended his office holiday party yesterday given by Royal Packaging. Upon arriving off of Pompton Ave., the outside area sparkled in its holiday colors, going into their valet parking. Once inside, stepping into their glass-enclosed entrance, a huge Christmas tree awaited us with views of the bar and 1st floor banquet room leading out to a breathtaking outdoor piazza for wedding ceremonies. We went here for an event for my other half's job, and it certainly did not disappoint! The food was absolutely excellent. Cocktail hour included chicken and sausage which was phenomenal, sliders, mac and cheese squares, deep fried mozzarella, clams casino, Buffalo cauliflower, battered shrimp, and spring rolls. All were wonderful. Steak at dinner was cooked perfectly. It was well-seasoned, tender, and sides were flavorful and well-done. The bar staff was top-class. My husband and I wholeheartedly recommend il Tulipano. The food and service are exceptional! The recently renovated venue is stunning. Our guests had a wonderful time and couldn't stop talking about the cocktail hour. Everything felt tailored to our needs, and Michael and his team provided outstanding service. The food was outstanding, and the staff was polite, helpful, and always available. The ambiance is elegant, almost like being in a castle. The bathrooms were very clean. I recently dined at this restaurant and found the food, service, and atmosphere to be excellent. I would recommend having a second bartender available for at least the first 45 minutes to help manage the influx of guests as they arrive.
This is a beautiful wedding venue, and the food was quite good—much better than what you typically find at other banquet halls, where the meals are often reminiscent of airplane fare.
I had no idea about this place until I attended a party here. It feels hidden and somewhat secretive, but the ambiance is fantastic and the food is excellent!
