If this restaurant ever undergoes renovations, it will lose its unique charm. The gyros here are the best I've ever tasted. The pita is soft, the gyros are generously thick, and the prices are great. The vintage photos on the wooden paneling add to its character and make this place truly special.
This is not only the best place to eat in Mt. Vernon, but it also ranks among my favorite Greek restaurants anywhere, even in Greece! You won't be disappointed if you make the short trip off the interstate. Please note that they only accept cash, but there's an ATM right across the street.
This is a very good small sandwich shop. They sell Gyros, fries and a traditional Greek salad. They also have Baklava if they haven't sold out. Well worth the side trip off the interstate. Dine in or carry out.
