We choice this restaurant because of the favourable reviews on trip adviser. When we walked in no one came out from the back for a few minutes. We wanted to sit at a table with a bench seat but were told we had to take...a table at the window because the other tables were for the regulars. We took the table by the window but it was cold because my back was against the window. The whole time we were there only people came in. One sat at the bar and the other couple were allowed to sit at the table we had wanted. Besides this strange interaction with the guy behind the bar the food was good and our server was very friendly.
We went to get our dinner on a Saturday and even though there was some activity, I wouldn't qualify that time to be super busy. After ordering, we waited outside for over minutes to get hamburgers and grilled cheese. A lot of delivery companies...(Skip the. came and picked up orders before we had our food. At one point, nobody came in for about minutes and NO order came out (because we were not alone to wait). Needless to say, it was my first and last time I went to this place. Not even an acknowledgement that we waited a long time.
What a great spot to warm up on a cold day! I love walking around this interesting town and had made up my mind to try a burger, once I got cold, at La Plank on this visit after hearing so many locals rave. They...were right (as locals tend to be). Terrific bar small space but bright, clean and comfortable in a great location by the river. Burger was outstanding, service, too, and friendly to boot. Mission accomplished. Glad I picked this to as my stop and will definitely go back.
We had a great experience at La Plank! The service was friendly and our food arrived promptly. The prices were fair and the food was delicious. The restaurant has two outdoor terraces and indoor seating options. Everyone at our table ordered poutine and we were impressed with the quality of the gravy and cheese curds. Great little restaurant in St Jean-sur-Richelieu. Across from the river., and downtown. We sat on the sunny terrace behind the restaurant on one of the first warm spring days, and enjoyed a delicious lunch. World’s best grilled cheese with crispy frites for me, and veggie...burger topped with guacamole, salsa, tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese along with onion rings for my daughter. Friendly waitress provided terrific service. We will be back.
Tried the mac and cheese with buffalo chicken and it was just ok but the La Plank poutine with all the toppings was outstanding and the hot dog with poutine was also delicious. Scoping other tables getting burgers and they looked great too. The services...great and English friendly.
During our trip back to Vermont, we decided to make one last stop for poutine and we were certainly not let down! The servers were very friendly and it was great to see that they were all bilingual. The grilled cheese was also delicious.
We just slammed the place with people. It’s a smaller place and we had a bit of a wait for food (understandable since we slammed them). Everything we ordered was great. Homemade burgers. Poutine. Calamari. Awesome food. Highly recommend. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The most important aspects of a restaurant; great service and great food. La Plank has both and more. The atmosphere was enjoyable as was the music. My family loved it and we would definitely go back.
