I dont get to go out to eat much, but I loved going to Lucky for date night! Our server, Chris, was really nice and helpful. I had the madame G and the lucky cube, and they were probably the best cocktails in the Roanoke Valley! The bartender takes so much care to make a perfectly crafted drink. We got the oysters and the akara to start. The oysters were so fresh and the akara was so delicious and had just the right amount of spice. For dinner, we got a few different entrees and split them. What an incredible find! I was visiting the area and this restaurant was recommended by a local. I made a wrong turn and had to call the restaurant for directions. The host not only provided directions on the phone but stepped out to wave and direct me. The place had a great retro vibe and good playlist and the menu/cocktails were all incredible--part southern, part hipster, part retro. Our server (Bridget? was incredibly attentive and warm and knowledgable. But the star of the show was the smoked meat loaf with mashed potatoes and peas. I couldn't finish the entire dish, especially after an appetizer of Akara (black eyed pea fritters , but I did my best and brought the rest back to my hotel...
I was in town for a business trip and stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday evening. This exceeded my expectations. The staff was so welcoming, the drinks were unique and amazing, the food was delicious. I sat at the bar and the bartenders really made the experience even better. I got the beet small plate to start and I seriously can say that was the best beet dish I have ever had....yes BEETS! I met a few people at the bar and had great conversation. I was told about other local spots to check out next time I am in town. This will be my go to spot when I am back for work. My friend who had never been to Lucky in the years he has lived her is moving and I said, you have got to try the best chicken and mashed potatoes ever with greens! We were so excited! The crispy Brussels were too wet from some sauce so they were not good to me. The fryers broke right after our order was taken and we couldn't order the only dish we wanted. Another favorite dish I like a lot is the pork chops but they have been removed from the menu. It was not a good day as we left but I hope to return. Lucky is a fantastic restaurant for an exquisite bite to eat! The atmosphere, the drinks and especially the food continue to exceed my expectations. Locally sourced, absolutely delicious plates of food! I recently went for my birthday and can't wait to make another reservation and dine there again!
We are new Lucky fans, only trying it one other time. I can't describe how good it is. The atmosphere, the staff, the cocktails and the outstanding food. A small, creative, mouthwatering menu has something for everyone. The smoked meatloaf is something I will dream about.
Hands down our favorite restaurant in Roanoke! The fried chicken the oysters are absolutely amazing! We love that they switch the menu seasonally, including their amazing cocktail list. They make the best creative cocktails! Also the service here is always impeccable!

Everything here was great, especially the staff. High end quality without pretentious attitude and pricing, this is going to become a regular place for me when I'm in Roanoke.
