It is unfortunate to see the decline in quality and service at this longtime Bethesda establishment. The last few meals have been disappointing, and it appears they have reached their lowest point. It is a positive development that they are closing this week for remodeling, although it seems like a mistake as the ambiance was the only redeeming quality of the restaurant. Hopefully, the renovation will allow them to start fresh with improved kitchen operations, service, and management. If not, it may be worth taking a short trip on the metro into DC for better food and a superior dining experience at a similar price.
The food at Mon Ami Gabi is quite good; ambience is lovely feels like a true Parisian brasserie; service, at least on my most recent visit, was a bit harried and distracted, and at times quite inattentive (this may be a function of understaffing). Whatever the case, it was still a pleasurable and pleasant experience.
We had the filet mignon steaks. The steaks were also tiny (this was not the three mini tenderloins special)Both our orders were over cooked. Requests for more drinks, tomato sauce etc where generally Un met.
The food at this restaurant is fantastic and the service is excellent! All four of us were pleased with our menu choices. My escargot was absolutely delicious!

Usual fine experience. We will miss this during renovation Do come back after project is completed.
We went for brunch to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. Food was fresh and filling!
I love the ambience and the crammed together tables and the servers in black and white.
We love the place but food could be better,(especially the dessert) given the pricing.
