One of the better Pho restaurants in Catonsville. Wife loves Vegetarian Pho (pic and spring rolls w tofu. My favorite is Bun Bo Hue, spicy soup w several meats. It comes w a thicker noodle, almost like spaghetti, so I ask for the normal pho rice noodle instead. Also has pork blood (piece I had was not good , pork knuckle (see pic, sub this one out, it had only one little bite of meat , and fatty brisket (tough . The meats in this dish are not good compared to other places, so I think I 'd rather order a different pho and ask them to use the bun bo hue broth. Best of both worlds. I really wanted to like the Pho here, but it was just lacking the authentic flavor. My friends and I stopped by on a Monday for lunch and the place was packed. The Pho and Bun Bo Hue broth lacked that strong bone/pork flavor. The Pho I didn't add any hoisin or sriracha and it was still lacking flavor. The BBH tasted like Pho broth with some spices in it. Gone are the Man vs Food 2 lbs of Pho challenge. The location itself is very clean with the plastic wrap all around the condiments. Service is great as our food came out really quickly. I'll probably be back to give them another shot, but if you want some authentic Vietnamese soups this is not the place.
The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, featuring a row of booths on each side (about five on each side) and a row of close-together tables in the center, which means you might find yourself sitting right next to someone from another party. The staff was very attentive, though. When I arrived to eat alone, I was initially seated at a center table in a row that was empty, but soon after I sat down, a booth opened up. The staff quickly offered to move me, and they promptly cleaned the table for me.
The pho here is quite good, but not the absolute best I've had. A small bowl costs $14 and a large one is $16, which seems overpriced for the Baltimore area. However, the flavor is enjoyable. Pretty good pho, but not the best. A small bowl of pho costs $14, and a large $16, which is way more expensive than what you expect to pay for in the Baltimore area. But the taste is pretty good. The soup can be richer, whereas the noodle texture is just right. If it’s cheaper it would have easily gotten five stars from me.
Absolutely delicious! The pho was fantastic, and the atmosphere was lovely. The food arrived quickly and was incredibly flavorful. The portion sizes were generous as well. I really appreciated the vibrant ceiling tiles and charming decorations. The staff were friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning!
The broth was delicious, but there was very little meat in the soup. The prices are higher than those at similar restaurants. While I was in the restroom, my bowl and half of the soup were taken away, and the table was wiped down. I didn't have time to get another bowl of soup, so I left feeling hungry.
Very tasty and great portion sizes. The chicken is halal, which is great for muslims. The coffee and tea are creamy and delicious. The food is delicious, the service is fast, and the prices are reasonable. I just wish their peanut sauce had a stronger peanut flavor. Pho is one of my favorite dishes to order in winter!
