I ordered the char kuay teow to go and was really disappointed. I've tried a lot of char kuay teow before, and this one barely resembled the dish. The flavors were off and key ingredients were missing. The fried egg was shaped oddly, like a ball. The prawns tasted frozen and lacked seasoning, and they even used frozen carrots. On top of that, the dish was extremely oily. I had high hopes based on the good reviews, but this meal let me down. I won’t be coming back.
On my final day in Melbourne, I was craving Chinese food and after a quick Google search, I found myself at Rice Too Asian Cuisine. The portions were generous, and the prices incredibly affordable—definitely deserving of five stars. I was pleased to see my sweet and sour pork included celery and carrots, adding a bit of balance to this indulgent dish. Service was great, and I enjoyed a satisfying lunch for just $1–20 per person.
