I had heard good things about this place so decided to go with a friend and 5 month old baby in a pram for coffee and lunch.As soon as we entered the staff gave us a "look" but we decided to proceed. We struggled to get through with the pram and then we were told the pram was in the way, even though it was positioned as best as possible (without assistance from any staff). We ordered our coffees and sat feeling as though we were not welcome at all. We drank the coffees which were just average and left.We walked across the road and had lunch at Magnolia 73 where they were more than helpful and welcoming and serve much better coffee! We had wanted to try Salt for sometime and today we finally got around to it and we now wish we hadn't !!!! The food was dreadful we order Breakfast the poached eggs rock hard and the was to hard to actually cut we paid over $60 for two adults and a child which was over priced. The glasses for the water where dirty and the staff seemed interested (to try and cover the shocking food we asked for sauce twice but it never arrived) Would recommend it we have lots of good places to eat in Hobart but unfortunately it is one of the worst.
Met family here for breakfast, acoustics are a bit tricky for quiet conversation but the breakfast menu has all the usual suspects and some with a twist. We had the omelette (pumpkin, spinach, pinenuts, pesto and haloumi). Also had the breakfast tacos, and poached eggs on sourdough. The juices are freshly squeezed, the coffee hot and quick. The lunch menu looked great, the prices were cheap! A good recommendation.

my man and I ate here at our last day in tassie when we were in the opposite. the service was appalling, the staff seemed quite disappointed to work there. we ordered the rindfleischburger and the hühnerburger and both were terrible. the waitress poured the camp of my man as if it were a dietary coke. disappointing way to end our vacation.
Fab flavours and yes! The burger I had WAS juicy. Great except base of burger got somewhat soggy which made it tricky if not fun! Good amount of fries but a wee bit expensive, no Wifi, but obviously popular. Coffee was nice, parking in the vaccinity is easy if you go back a Street or get lucky out front.
The food here is very good quality café stuff. The staff are attentive and professional. I get the feeling it tries very hard to be a restaurant but maybe just lacks that.This is Tasmania however, so by the states standards this probably is a good quality restaurant.Stupid name but nice food.....
This restaurant has changed management and doesnt seem to be the same standard. Meals are average but recommend for a quick catch up coffee with snack. Outside tables also. Easy location with big car park out the back of Woolworths. Maybe in time, meals will improve.

Good food and drinks with limited choices having said that I am sure you can find something that would appeal. A criticism is the appalling acoustics making conversation difficult once the cafe is crowded with people raising voices to be heard.
A quick business lunch and I was wanting seafood. The calamari were fantastic, cooked to perfection. The coffee was great and the service was quick but personal. Top spot.
