We good a discount deal with Groupon to try this restaurant, it was worth it. Although you had limited choose from the menu as it was a deal, the food was very tasty and the plates huge. We have been on other deals to other...restaurants and because it is a deal we found the menu is limited food service is not necessarily what they would give to a full paying customer, poor service as well. Thus, you take the option that they don't really want you to come back. Here at Spicy Affair, the food plates were huge service very friendly and attentive. We will be going back.
We have returned to A Spicy Affair twice in the last couple of weeks. The first time we shared two curries, rice and naan etc. We noticed most other diners were eating the multi-sectioned tahli selection, so went back to try that! It's very good...value to choose the compartmentalised meal. You get to order one curry part. The other parts comprise lentils, yoghurt, rice etc and a full piece of naan bread. Plenty for lunch at a cost of about $15 per person. When we are in the mood for curry we'll definitely return to A Spicy Sffair.
I have only been inside this restaurant once as we usually just order for delivery. We found the staff to be a little unfriendly and it was odd that the waitress was wearing a tracksuit on a Friday night.<br/ <br/ Having said that, we do really like their food. We usually share butter chicken and lamb korma with lots of naan and rice. The butter chicken is a good balance of sweet and salty. The lamb korma has chunky pieces of tender lamb and a mild flavour.<br/ <br/ Reasonable prices given the serving sizes are quite large.
We originally came to this place wanted to eat at another Indian establishment that was in the same premise. We didn't realize it's a different Indian restaurant. Anyhow we are pleasantly surprised with the quality of the curries. The butter curry was creamy, sweet with that hint of spiciness. The chicken vindaloo also tasted great. The cheese in the naan is generous and the garlic makes it fragrant too. Too bad the price is a little expensive for the portion you're getting.<br/

This small little Indian Restaurant has a decent tasting dishes. I was happy to drink the famous Indian Beer; Kingfisher. Tried the Goa Beer (Other Indian Beer too) which was okay in taste. They have one common toilet upstairs and service was reasonably good.
I give this restaurant 5 stars. I have been on a quest to taste as many Pani Puris as possible ever since I discovered them, and this place has the best Pani Puri I have ever tried! All the food was delicious and nicely spicy, which I really enjoyed.
I was in the mood for Indian food one evening and this restaurant satisfied my craving. It is one of the top Indian restaurants in South Melbourne.
This is not an experience you want to have. I ordered food last night and received it the next day (ordered at 9:31 and food arrived at 10:39).

Nice Indian cuisine in heart of Melbourne CBD. Chicken biryani was awesome and found just walking distance to crown casino. Highly recommended.
