Most of the courses were mediocre at best, featuring tough meat, overcooked vegetables, and rubbery fish, with one dish being literally inedible. The menu advertised BBQ chicken hearts with satay sauce, but what we received were raw chicken hearts that we ended up having to feed to the dogs. When I brought this to the staff’s attention, they responded with a dismissive attitude and a shrug. The manager assured us that the hearts couldn't possibly be raw since they had undergone a sous vide process for several hours. I've visited this place multiple times and even stayed overnight once. The room we had was wonderful—well-equipped, nicely decorated, and incredibly comfortable; it was just done right. The food at the pub is fantastic. The menu offers a good variety without overwhelming you with a thousand choices. I've eaten here over five times, and I've always left feeling full and extremely satisfied. Everything on the menu is delicious and cooked to perfection. And the beers, oh the beers! They just keep getting better. There’s always a great selection, from lagers to sours to hazy options. I was unfortunately quite disappointed with our visit. We had been looking forward to dining here for a while, but it didn't quite meet our expectations. The gluten-free options were very limited, which is surprising for a restaurant of this type and price range, where you typically find much more variety. While the food was tasty, it was overly drenched in oil or creamy sauces, and the portion sizes were small. By the time we got home, we all ended up making toast. Given the prices, we’d likely choose to go to Cuppits next time instead. Oddly enough, there was no coffee offered at the end of the meal, so we had to find somewhere else to get our caffeine fix.
Food drinks: Lunch on a quiet Friday, great service, delicious food. Staff were engaging, entertaining and informative. We had tuna croquette, oven roasted prawns, wood fired tuna and roasted cabbage. Amazing and innovative flavour combinations. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert. If Michelin’s original stars were 1 worth a stop, 2 worth a detour, this food is absolutely worth a detour (but not if you want a bog standard schnitty and chips). Friday night we are looking forward to great pub meal and drinks and instead had to endure Yumcha menu with very poor dishes. Chicken hearts were not cooked at all. Very disappointing meal was very slow to come out and staff were not very apologetic about raw chicken hearts served up on menu will not be back. We ordered 2 yumchas and were charged for 3 ! The food here is absolutely delicious and the drinks do not disappoint! The wine selection and Dangerous Ale brews are SO good! Wonderful atmosphere with stunning views! I've been here multiple times and I always walk out happy! This place is an absolute gem of the south coast! Service: 5 Location: 5
Really beautiful food. Could not fault a thing we had (5 adults, 1 child). Service was great and was nice to sit outside for drinks afterwards. Sashimi melted in our mouths. Mains were fabulous and sides were phenomenal. One of our favourite spots down south. Can’t wait to be back.
We dined at the Milton hotel tonight. It was probably our best NSW regional dining experience. The flatbread, prawn and Wagyu dishes were amazing. The venue also had live music which was a great touch. Would highly recommend!
