This pub offers everything except, thankfully, pokies. The variety of beers are cold, the wine selection is vast and the meals are top notch. The public bar is relaxed (excellent counter-meals) with a TAB outlet and TVs. The dining room has a touch of class about it, with a fireplace, windows looking onto neighbouring streets. Staff is friendly and keen to help. Upstairs contains a vast function room. Another "hidden" gem.
Very attractive old building and nicely modernised pub inside with lots of outdoor tables on two fairly quiet streets. I can't wait for Victoria to come into the 21st century and join the other states and ban smoking outside a venue. No point wasting great ambience on a few smokers. The Riser has a nice fit out and a mix of polished timber and white cloth tables. Reasonable beers on tap and more in stubbies.
Where else can you enjoy a seventeen piece big band with no cover charge? This place jumps every Tuesday evening. These guys are all first class musicians playing for the joy playing in big band brings. The venue offers restaurant class meals as well as a pub style menu. We were four and all enjoyed a great night out. And, just to finish off, the wine list isn't too shabby either. Well worth a visit.
The bistro was small with seating for around 24 people. Very cosy and a great place to have an intimate dining experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not a large variety of food on the menu. But still a great selection. Good pub grub, good service. Central to business area of Melbourne. Parking might be a problem week days but not an issue on the weekend we visited. The place to go for (former South Melbourne) Swans games. Still, it does well for a sports bar with friendly staff and it's clean. Everyone at the table had burgers that were very tasty and very large. The rest of the menu was much more fancy than typical pub food but the burger may be a sign that they do it all well.
Lunch on Friday, extremely busy which was a good sign. Food was good, however the service whilst ordering was abrupt and the waitress grumpy. When paying, we asked to spilt the bill and wish we hadn't! The lady behind the bar was extremely rude. Wouldn't rush back.
High quality steak offering in relaxed and comfortable surrounds. Good service with range of tap beer, wine and spirits available at fair prices. Good for quick business lunch or family meals. Outdoor seating in tree lined street. Good value for money
There is a barman here from Dublin,Ireland. He is a lovely man and makes you feel at home. He pours a fantastic pint. Honestly couldn't give him enough praise. Good pub food, lovely local pub Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Very friendly pub with staff who helped me find my lost cardigan ( together with Palmerston Arms closer by). Good value food. Comfortable. Chatty customers
