Lunch at the Yankee Grill was like a homecoming. Run by Steve and Doug, one Australian the other American running this neat little grill along Henley Beach Road.The menu is not large but a good selection. My wife had the Reuben which she said is the best she has ever had and for her, that is saying something. I like burgers and ordered the Bacon Blue Cheese burger, the blue cheese runneth over, the meat was delicious and the american cut bacon along with the blue cheese it melted in your mouth. To top it off they had A&W Root Beer, what a surprise and one of the owners graduated high school from the same school we did and from the same hometown 15 years later. Small world, what a discovery....
The cafe is situated in one of Adelaide's well known seaside suburbs.The American owners, have created an authentic american feeling to the shop.You are able to have breakfast all day; they serve original American meals, "mexican", "hamburgers". The meals are ample, but you need to try and save some space for their gourmet cakes.Parking is at the back of the shop on "HMAS" Road, Henley Beach, SA 5024.Yankee Cafe is a small shop, which wheelchair access; the shop is cosy.The cafe is open, Thursday to Sunday, the opening hours are 9.30 am to 7.30 pm.It is well worth a visit if you have time or a chance.
This great little cafe features excellent American food. We have been here a number of times the last time a few days ago. We ordered the Chicago Hot Dogs which were very flavoursome followed by Key Lime pie and Capucinos all for a reasonable price. Its not a big cafe but outdoor seating is also available. Its about a 5 minute walk to Henley South beach so if you are in the Henley South beach area try the Yankee Cafe
Such a friendly owner, delicious food and loyal clientele.If you're craving an American experience, get to this place! We had the American brekkie and Yankee bagel. So yum. And the coffee is great! Huge variety of menu options. Even has clam chowder and key lime pie! Was really busy on a Sunday morning but the service was not missing. A wonderful establishment which has fast become our local. Today I decided to explore around the area where I reside I found a few new places ..but you know me I love quirky little homely places .. So here I am , it's a little Yankee Cafe Very quaint n inviting ,close to the beach , it had a few locals in , so I decided I'd try sumthing different a breakfast pie Very nice It had bacon custardy egg hash brown n very tasty ❤❤
If you want a genuine American cooked breakfast you have to try the Yankee Cafe in Henley Beach. I had the Green Eggs and Ham and it was superb. We also shared Blueberry Pancakes and bacon (nothing beats bacon). The two owners are friendly and happy, not too common nowadays. Please give it a try and tell them Carole and Mark sent us
Just had an awesome late brekkie here (they do all day breakfast). Service was great and friendly, food great, and the best of all was the American style bacon and pancakes. My big boys tried the Breakfast Wraps and they went down a treat too. Highly recommended!
We had the pulled pork baguette and a New Orleans Sandwich. Both just punched us in the mouths with flavour! Washed down with a milkshake that was juuuuuust right! Not to sweet, not to thin. The owner was delightful and made time for small talk. Recommended! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We popped in for lunch on Saturday. The welcome was very friendly, although both men were obviously busy. Our meals arrived promptly, and were generous and delicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere and will visit again.
