One time on the channel 9 program Postcards, there was a segment on a profiled Lebanese restaurant which showed beautiful freshly prepared dishes vibrant in colour and the host just oozed over the prepared food. This gave us the idea to simply Google a Lebanese restaurant near by and try our luck. Fortunately, Google led us to a wonderful place on Toorak Road called Zurouna. Well, when my dinning companions and I proceeded to take advantage of this ‘awesome’ offer, we were advised, in a nonchalant manner that, ‘We don’t do this anymore’. You provided us with false and misleading advertising when we have a right to receive accurate and truthful messages about your service. Been there numerous times, it never seems to let us down. Greeted by delicious aromas and friendly staff. The ambience is just perfect. We went on a cold evening, and had a table by the fireplace, with our red wine, then the food started coming through, we choose a banquet, from the cheese cigars to the lemony tabouli and fattoush, not to mention the stuffed koobi, creamy dips, grilled chicken on skewers with garlic dip, lamb and kafta...we haven't even started on the amazing desserts and coffee....It's safe to say, we will definetly go back again and again, its not just the food, the attention whenever its someone's b'day, they make everyone feel involved. We were met by pleasant & courteous staff late on a Tuesday evening & seated in front of an open fire on a chilly Melbourne night. The menu has a wide selection of Mid-Eastern / Lebanese food with food & wine in mid to upper price range. Vegetarian options are available. The ambience is a lovely Middle Eastern setting with unobtrusive background music. Food was plentiful & quality was excellent. BYO appears to be accepted and they also do take away & home delivery. There is no disabled access. We came back the following evening (earlier) & were remembered which is nice.

After wandering down Tootak Rd Chapel street looking for a recommended Japanese restaurant which we couldn't find, we wandered in to Zurouna and had a delicious and reasonably priced meal- shared a variety of small plates And a couple of large plates. --spicy lamb sausages, tender squid, falafel, dolmades and a particularly delicious chickenYoghurt salad main- but the mixed plate of dessert treats and Turkish coffee topped it all off.We wish we could return.
We love our middle eastern food and eat plenty of it, this fantastic restaurant is up there with the best. From the moment we walked in the staff (all men) were very welcoming and efficient. Our mouths were salivating reading the menu and we werent disappointed. On lady in our party is has food allergies (celiac, lactose intolerant but she had plenty of options. Fantastic selection of dishes, Zurouna is a must to visit if you are in Toorak, you will love it.
You can walk in this part of Melbourne, so take an after dinner stroll. The food is heavy and filling. There is a home cooked quality that I particularly liked. The service was good, and the staff members actually answer your questions intelligently—something often missing in restaurants nowadays. Generally clean, has enough variety to suit any vegetarian, and the meat is handled with superb timing. It’s well worth a visit.
We'd been here for lunch once before and were impressed with the food and the friendly service. We decided to take more family and a friend this time. Once again the food was excellent and the service impeccable. The cauliflower, the lamb casserole, the calamari and the chicken skewers were all delicious.

On a cold winters night we were warmed up by Zurouna. Service was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. We shared falafels, eggplant/pomegranate salad, tagine vegetables and barramundi. The wine list was large enough to provide good options including by glass. You should try it!
Would prefer to give 3.5 score but not quite a 4 rating. We ordered the banquet. Food was ok service was ok. Location is good. It was just ok nothing special but a nice night
