Happy Hour is a must!Went here at 4:30pm for the Happy Hour that ends at 6pm. Had the unbelievable deal of 12 raw oysters on the half shell for $12 (regular $30). Their feature cocktail at $9 was also delicious and they had a good array of other shareable Happy Hour items that were better than your typical deep fried usuals like some sort of fries or chicken wings.Restaurant interior makes you feel like you’re on vacation and you’re in a typical hotel restaurant in the US. My wife and I returned from Vancouver a few weeks ago after spending a week visiting our son. We lunched and suppered at a different restaurant each day and, without question, the best taste experience was Free Bird Table and Bar. A totally unpretentious setting and atmosphere just adds to a menu both unique and crazy delicious. My wife and I had the Blackened Halibut and it was the best halibut we’ve ever had. It’s accompanied by a delicious mix of succotash, chimichurri, and chicharron. A perfectly moist and blackened fish with a spicy side, without being pepper-hot, that goes perfectly with the fish. Simon and the team at Freebird took on our group of 60 and everything was perfect. The service team, the support team, the kitchen team, the bear staff- everyone was on their toes, friendly and professional. Our guests had a great experience and for many it was their first time there... and they talked about how they couldn't wait to come back. We were with a group of teen grads and families- and the food catered to young and older palettes as well as food sensitivities and allergies in our group. We'll be back!
We absolutely enjoyed our experience at Free Bird! During our visit to Vancouver before our cruise, we dined there twice. We were particularly taken with the smoked Manhattans. The BBQ is outstanding, and that's saying a lot coming from a family that knows southern BBQ well, being from Atlanta, Georgia! The food, drinks, and atmosphere were all fantastic! We highly recommend Free Bird.
Came for the food but stayed for the staff!The Halibut was absolute perfection. Flavorful, exquisitely cooked, and a very bountiful portion. Try the watermelon drink as well; very refreshing. But by far the best part was the awesome people and the atmosphere. I can find a good meal in a lot of places, but that level of service and genuine personality really made my night.
The sandwich was huge. The batter was full of flavor, but the chicken breast itself was a bit lacking in taste and too oily for my liking. The service was good. Overall, it was a decent experience.
We had a night cap at the bar, and the server was excellent; chatty and happy. Came back for breakfast the following day and same great service. Food was excellent and portion size was good!
The atmosphere is pleasant, and they have some delicious dishes on the menu. A must-try is their shrimp and grits. There's also plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy during the summer!
The service is really good, a group of happy people asking all the time if you are doing well. The food is average. The fries are good!
