We took our enormous sandwich to Astoria park, where we enjoyed it on a bench with a stunning view of the city. Having asked for it to be cut into quarters, we were shocked by the size of each piece as we took our first bites. Despite my initial skepticism, I was pleasantly surprised by how well-balanced and delicious each bite was, with the fresh lettuce and other toppings complementing the rich flavors of the meats and cheeses. A quarter of the sandwich was more than enough to satisfy my hunger, and I couldn't imagine finishing a whole one on my own. Overall, I highly recommend Sal, Kris Charlie's Deli for a classic deli experience. The novelty of the massive sandwiches and the enjoyment...
WOW…I never ordered from this Deli before and on April 26th (the food was THAT GOOD I still remember the date)I ordered a Chicken Salad Sandwich (Hero) with a request for Mustard on it. They did not disappoint!!! Not only was there Mustard but having not told them how much they put the PERFECT amount so it didn’t overpower the flavor of the Chicken Salad. The Chicken Salad itself was AWESOME and a generous amount. Topped off with the Lettuce and Tomato it was a dream! THIS is the ONLY place, going forward, that I will order this type of Hero!!! THANK YOU for the experience.
This sandwich is the best tasting and most generously filled hero sandwich I have ever had. It is so delicious and satisfying that we call it "the bomb" at my salon. It easily feeds four people, and it is perfect with either mayo or mustard - both are fantastic options.
