This was the perfect venue for our recent funeral wake. Charlotte made the booking very easy and was so accommodating. After the initial enquiry by telephone communication was prompt via email. We found it difficult making a choice of sandwiches for the day as the selection to choose 5 varieties from was plentiful and so varied. We were able to use a private room to the rear of the pub that was very comfortable for our guests. Plenty of tables and seating. Today, my friends and I dined at the restaurant. The staff was helpful, friendly, and had lovely smiles. We all enjoyed our main meals, with my friend and I choosing the belly pork. Although the portion was small, it was delicious. My friend did not like the sweet and sour red cabbage that accompanied the dish, and requested for it to be left off her plate. However, it would have been nice if she was offered an alternative, especially considering the price of nearly £18 for just potato and a piece of belly pork. Sat outside for a few drinks as a family with our dog, ended up having lunch. We loved the seating area outside with its pretty pots and cushions. Usk is beautiful with lots of pretty plant displays everywhere. Inside the pub there are lovely touches like flowers and scented candles in the corridor, with toiletries like body spray to use in the ladies which was nice. The man behind the bar was so nice and friendly, with three cute resident dogs in around the bar! Thank you for a lovely afternoon, and the dog treats Nice ales and basket meals. I visited this wonderful restaurant twice this weekend while in the area. During my first visit, I tried their incredibly tasty gnocchi (my only regret was not having some bread to soak up the remaining sauce). The next day, I went back with my elderly mother for Sunday lunch. Once again, I enjoyed a delicious meal, including a slow-cooked beef dish with all the sides. As an added bonus, I had the pleasure of witnessing my mom engage in some good-natured banter with a local regular at the bar, much to the amusement of his friends. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Last night, I visited the Castle Inn with friends. The menu may not be extensive, but with the standard and quality of the food served, it doesn't need to be. The prawn in chile starter was incredible. Two of us in the group had the battered cod, which was flawless. My belly pork with mustard mash was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The poached sous with new potatoes was also excellent. The wine selection was good, and they had great ales on tap. Thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful dining experience.

Went to the castle for a meal with friends and apart from the menu be8ng very limited the staff are really grumpy and unwelcoming. They did a 3 course set meal for £17.50 that one of the party had but my wife did want the desert so they booked out the starters and mains separately so we ended up paying £5 more ? But overall it wasn’t a good experience with the staff so we won’t return.

Booked the castle Inn , for a few nights stay ,as a base for the wetlands visit, what a great location, very friendly staff along with very welcoming locals, dog friendly which is a bonus, nice relaxing room, clean , overall would definitely use again due to the friendly locals staff ,

Attended Christmas dinner for 16 tennis ladies. Had two course meal. Everyone enjoyed. Always a warm welcome in this cosy pub.
